It won't be that big this time around. Casuals will be suckered in by the hype I suppose. Terrible fight.bogan whisperer wrote:They don't call it the lucky country for nothing and Mundine and Green about to get real lucky. You were arguing and arguing it would never happen and will no doubt be one of those contributing most to the hypeDA GOOSE wrote:It won't be that big this time around. Re: Mundine V Hatley
Commenting on a website is contributing to the hype.
I hope Mundine rematches Geale to pee the ghost off.

You could have got a cab, a meal and a pot or two with the money you would have saved if you'd gone to the RSL.AntonS wrote:If it happens, I doubt I'd be prepared to part with 50 bucks to see it. Mind you, given my popularity in this forum, I might not live long enough to reconsider ;;-)Like a Boss wrote:It matters not what we think or say, Mundine and Green will almost certainly fight again.amwsnw wrote:I really enjoyed the card.No massive names on the undercard just some really competitive fights.
For what its worth I had Buttigeig winning 77 75.
To choc, great heart mate. Just to be standing on your feet at the end you deserve all the credit in the world. Looked nothing like the fighter who not that long ago beat Ranchenko.
I know a fight with Green makes sense financially but I dont want to see it (I dare say its a done deal). Mundine has nothing to prove. If the first fight with Green was close i could understand it but I see no purpose. Hang up the gloves Anthony on what has been a fantastic career. That said, at 80kg and if he's fit he would probably start favorite against Danny regardless on last nights result.
Good luck to Hatley moving forward. This victory probably puts him in a decent fight next time around.
Last night was the 1st time I subscribed to Mundine's ppv. Did so 'cos I wanted to see some of the other fights, but too lazy to venture to local RSL, which is hop, skip & jump away

Websites are probably the single biggest source of hype for boxing these days.DA GOOSE wrote:Commenting on a website is contributing to the hype.I hope Mundine rematches Geale to pee the ghost off.
Why do you think boxers, promoters and trainers provide Q & A interviews to websites? Because it helps promote their fights, that's why. That's also why some boxers, promoters and trainers post on website forums. Again, it is all about promotion. Selling their fights.
Why do you think advertisers pay for space on boxing websites? Same reason. Because it helps sell their products.
Websites influence people 's buying habits. Surely you know that? It isn't rocket science.
Re: Mundine V Hatley
This particular fight isn't for serious boxing fans that post on boxing websites. This fight is at least 6 years too late there will be a lot of talk on forums about it but I don't think people will buy it on here. I could be wrong though Im just not amped for this fight like first one.Like a Boss wrote:Websites are probably the single biggest source of hype for boxing these days.DA GOOSE wrote:Commenting on a website is contributing to the hype.I hope Mundine rematches Geale to pee the ghost off.

Of course some serious boxing fans will buy it. Some serious boxing fans will attend it too, and some serious boxing fans will talk about it daily too won't they?

You will do both. There is nothing surer. You know that as well as everybody else does.DA GOOSE wrote:Talking about it and watching are 2 different things.
Nobody will talk about the Mundine vs Green rematch more than you will, and repeatedly discussing something is showing interest in it. Not disinterest.
Re: Mundine V Hatley
So I guess you think everyone talking about Mundine-Jackson,Mundine-Falliga,Green-Siaca,Green-Briggs means those people would have watched them.bogan whisperer wrote:You will do both. Gawd, yer memory is nothing short of excellent. Care to post link to it? Maybe you're referring to Mundine v Green, which has got nothing to do with this topic.buster007 wrote:anton said it would never happen, lol.

Enjoy your mandatory rest period with Mr Francis. Two more might soon join you so the two of you don't get lonely
Re: Mundine V Hatley
Peter Fitzsimons has made an impassioned plea for Mundine to hang up the gloves:
And so say many of us, but is Fitzsimons on the ball with his comments or has himself been at the bottom of too many rucks?Anthony Mundine, I want to say this gently one more time then leave it. Mate, you are a proven champion in two sports, and your moral courage in life is beyond question. But you cannot go on, at the age of 40, getting hit in the head every day in training, then bashed in boxing matches – as you were on Wednesday night by a 29-year-old American Charles Hatley – and not think there will be consequences. There will be, and they will be devastating. As a devoted family man, you must retire for their sakes, if not for your own. Have you seen the results on older men who have had their brains rattled too often, for too long? I have, and it is appalling. For the families who must cope, it is completely devastating.
Anthony, I completely understand that no one gets to be a champion of your calibre without a cast-iron belief that you are bullet proof, that you can continue to take the slings and arrows that fell lesser men, but you are wrong. Stop this. And I hope your fellow Australians who care about you will stop watching you, stop feeding the machine that sells the image of one man trying to bash another man into unconsciousness.
As to the boxing authorities, conjure this. Mundine has continued to say he wants to fight Danny Green in a rematch. Of all the madnesses, this would be the maddest. Green has been fighting at weight that is four divisions heavier than Mundine. No boxing commission worthy of the name would/should/could sanction such a fight. STOP this. On your head be it, if Mundine's head takes yet more punishment.
