Boxing Has Reached a Low Point

Post by bnovelist »

Say what you want! Defend all you want! This is the first time ever we have been without a mainstream cross over star! Every era has had a

multiple cross over stars dating back the past 80yrs!!!!!! Joe Louis, Roberto Duran, Hagler, Ali, Ray Robinson, Tyson, Holyfield, Bowe, Hamed,

Mayweather, Hitman Hearns, Ray Leonard, Manny Pacquao, Felix Trinidad, Cotto, De La Hoya, Sugar Shane, Roy Jones, The Executioner, James

Toney, Larry Holmes, George Foreman, Joe Frazier, Julio Ceasar Chavez, etc...

Respect to guys like Pascal, Kovalev, and Porter they are really really trying but they lack that real star potential. How are we going to have fight

parties??? Who is out there that warrants a fight party? Damn!

Bnov, I tried to do the same thing and knock some sense into these people about the current state of boxing but I should have known better. The majority of the responses were pretty much "if you don't like the sport then quit watching and find another sport". So if you are looking for an intelligent discourse regarding this subject, it's going to be tough to get on this site.

It seems like we are in the minority and most people enjoy watching these one sided fights like Bradley and Loma had this weekend or all the junk that PBC has been pushing out to us. I get where you're coming from. Boxing's never had this much talent but they will never fight each other unless fans stop putting up with these one sided showcase fights.

Yeah EVERYBODY's a DIVA now  They witnessed Floyd grossing 200mil for one event and they are all saying "Oh Hell Nah! Let's Follow Floyd's

Blueprint F@ck The Dumbsh@t!" The only ones are Pascal, Kovalev, Canelo, Porter, and Cotto. After the loaded handwraps tragedy Cotto can do

whatever he wants. Look at this now how bad is this? http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/mma-cagew ... oxing.html

Cotto and Manny still warrant fight parties.
