Gomez again is keeping up with a hectic pace but not landing much. McDonagh fires back and seems to be targeting Gomez's body. Gomez better have good conditioning to keep this pace up because he doesnt seem to be making a dent in McDonagh but sheer workrate gives him the round. Angry staredown ends the round.

Pace slowing down but another good round for Gomez who didnt throw as much in this round but catching McDonagh with some heavy shots to both body and head. Peter doing good work with his jab. Gomez ends the round with a minor cut above his left eye.

Gomez spends the round following McDonagh around the ring eating jabs and on occasion Peter doubling up with a right cross. Gomez looks to be frustrated but catches McDonagh with a decent flurry towards the end of the round.

Gomez gets nailed with a right hand weirdly turns his back walks away from McDonagh who runs after him and lands about 6 shots shots which ends in a huge right hand to floor Gomez and the ref jumps in to stop the fight

Reminescent of Oliver McCall - Lewis or Duran - Leonard. Gomez just turns his back and takes several shots and gets dumped on his back and the ref waves it off.
Peter praising Uri Geller and calling out anyone as long as he gets time to prepare.

:o Steve Collins is on Irish TV angry and saying that he "smells a rat" and that Gomez threw the fight. The price on a 5th round finish at 150/1

It has just been said that Irish Bookmakers BoyleSports earlier tonight suspended betting on a finish between rounds 5-7.
So Gomez could be in serious troubles if the allegations are true

Sounds dodgy. With the underdog the odds are normally the same for all the rounds, so to win at 150/1 you would either have to back every round at 150/1 or be a very good guesser . If all the money was on 5-7 it will be a while before the bookies want to pay out. Although when £100 on 150/1 means a £15,000 pay out, the bookies will be looking for every possible excuse not to pay out.

Latest news is that both purse have been withheld pending an investigation. Gomez was checked by a Doctor after the fight and was ok to leave to his hotel

Very weird ending :o He was just walking away getting hit, I hate to think it, but it looks like something is up! Gomez is a wild man, some type of scam looks to be found out. On RTE, Collins etc are as good as saying it in what they are saying.

"Desperate" times if this comes out, no smoke with out fire

here's what happened.

Gomez LOST rounds 1-4 and was losing the fifth before he got stopped. he was getting hit every time he came near McDonagh. The commentators were SHOCKINGLY bad and were sucking Gomez knob for the whole fight. I could see that Gomez would be stopped soon enough. Steve Collins really is an idiot. Gomez got hit by a lot of shots and then decided to quit completely. He wanted to walk to his corner because he was fed up.

Gomez is completely finished now and I had a substantial amount of money on a stoppage for McDonagh in every round so I have made a great deal of money tonight.

I would have put the tip up for the whole forum but certain members have been threatning me over the past few months. They know who they are. Idiots.

It doesn't take a fornicating genius to figure there was a fair chance of gomez getting stopped, he looked like absolute shit last time out.

I want to see this for myself to form an opinion.

lirva33, maybe you master minded it

Only joking mate :TU:

Gomez is a spent fighter thats true, but the heavy betting on this fight and the bookmakers closing it and purses withheld looks funny.

Collins seems cert its fixed, the coming weeks will be interesting!

You must of made a bit of cash out of your bet, happy days! :TU:

I was at the event and was talking to Joe Egan. Apparently Gomez arrived in Ireland 8lbs over weight and was skipping in the sauna with full sweat gear on before the fight. I thought he faded significantly after a bright start and this would probably be the reason for it. Word around the arena was also that Gomez had trashed his dressing room after the fight.

I was ringside last night and apparently Gomez got hit on the temple and completely lost it, he said he went to defend himself and couldn't raise his arms.

Billy Graham was furious at the after party said that Peter deserved the win and he and Gomez were not cheats and he was not happy with the accusations being thrown around.

McDonagh's purse has been held until an enquiry is held
