Roach gives Arum green light for Pacquiao vs Crawford

Post by Badhusker »

It looks like it is Crawford, but they are still wanting a rematch with some retired guy.

Poor Khan, lol. Guess Manny is afraid of getting KTFO by him too. :OhYes

Of note is the fact that nowhere in this article is there any mention of Pacquiao's camp being afraid of Khan. That is just editorializing from the hater OP.

I admit hating Khan, but it was sarcasm. No reason either Manny or Floyd would fear Khan.

Crawford wouldn't take this fight. Moving up and getting his ass handed to him is pointless, he's got a great career ahead of him.

Crawford and his team have already said they would take the fight. Even if he is competitive, which I think he will be, it will boost his career plus be a big payday. Arum needs a new cash cow.

I've been hearing this opinion throughout this site but no one is telling me why or explaining how. Someone, please tell me how Manny is going to wipe out Terrance Crawford and why?

Listen, i'm as big of a Manny fan as the next guy and I just find this fight to be all wrong for Manny. What the heck has TC shown in the ring the last few years that indicates he's not an absolute terror who can knock people out with either hand? If i'm Manny, i'm not even considering it.

If i'm Manny, i'm going for the opponent that will bring in the most money and is a little closer to his own age. Tim Bradley is the choice for me if i'm Manny. Rubber match between two of the greatest active fighters right now, that's what i'm doing.

Maybe a Manny/TC fight would bring in a bit more money but it will be comparable dollars. And who knows? What if Manny looks great and finds some additional will to continue to fight? TC is a tough nut to crack on any night much less the first fight after a layoff due to injury.

I can see team Pac wanting a rematch with Mayweather. Pacquiao should hang around for a year and forget about Crawford.

he might face a few million good reasons
to take the fight. actually, ducking a faded
ATG would be a really stupid move. reality
is that manny is still competitive, but not
dangerous anymore. his last ko win dates
six years back.

Certainly past his prime, but to say Pacquiao isn't a dangerous fighter is ludicrous. The "last KO" stat isn't an accurate reflection of Pacquaio's ability to hurt opponents. Algieri was his bout before Floyd, a much bigger man than both Pacquiao & Crawford and he got flattened. Since his last official KO; he's retired Margarito, and put a hurting on several fighters with iron chins that never have been stopped, such as Marquez, Shane & Bradley. You'd have a stronger argument claiming Klitchko "isn't dangerous" because he failed to stop Jennings, Povetkin Wach & Haye.

This time last year Crawford was facing Raymundo Beltran at 135lb. I know he's a good, well-polished fighter, but his best win is who? A shot Ricky Burns? The overrated, garbage Gamboa? The idea that he's going to move up to Welter and face the best in the division is ludicrous.

Crawford wouldn't beat Timothy Bradley or Kell Brook.

No they don't, they're just doing what they've always done to try and sell his fights and that is use that retired guy's name because they can't sell jack without doing so.

Khan and Crawford should have to fight to see who gets MP, either way Khan would not end up getting that fight.

Brut, your making it sound like Mayweather is responsible for the 4 million PPV buys. Everyone paid just cause they love watching Mayweather's crowd pleasing style.

Who is this Brut you guys keep calling me?? Well we all know that Mayweather is at least responsible for 3.5 million of those views seeing that MP's last few PPVs barely grossed over half a million anyway, lol.

Here's a tip, Brut, if you're going to act incredulous about it, don't immediately respond to all the posts calling you Brut.

I mean, when someone yells, "Hey, Doug!" in a crowded mall, I don't turn my head and yell back: "Who is this Doug fellow!?", if you get where I'm going with this (Doug is not my name, so I don't respond to it).

They are quoting my name (Undefeated49-0) and using it with this Brut character reference so I would naturally assume that they are aiming their claims at me, I have not addressed all of them though I have seen many references to that. Personally it doesn't bother me that they would do that but it's kinda annoying when it is done repetitively.

Evidently this Brut must have really hurt a lot of people's feelings on this forum for them to come out so angrily against him, I never knew men could be so sensitive over some chat on the internet.

I love Bud Crawford as a fighter and think he will be one of the big names in the sport for years to come.

That is, if he doesn't take a career changing beating from Manny Pacquiao.

Folks need to remember exactly who Pac was fighting when they talk about him being shot or past it.

He didn't look shot or past it against anyone but Mayweather, including the time he got KTFO by JMM

Pac is still P4P one of the most dangerous fighters in the world.

And you are going to have him as an underdog against a guy that was in serious trouble against
Yuriorkis Gamboa less than a year and a half ago?

What is Bud going to do when Manny rocks him?

Switch to southpaw?

They may want the fight for the money, but if they think they are going to actually win it
they are tripping.

Brut, you should have rightfully used another handle. Like 48-1 one loss. That would have really fooled everyone.
