Brand new Regional Sanctioning body just started and I believe its a start to something big
It is founded by Stuart Duncan Matchmaker of Duco Events and Owner/Founder of DMS Boxing
https://www.facebook.com/Australasian-B ... 047967294/
This is the press release
"The Australian Boxing Organization has been created to sanction bouts between the best boxers from the Australasian region. Our titles ideally will be contested between boxers from the neighboring countries within, but can be contested between 2 boxers from within the same country.
The ABO is in its infantile stages of development and will be a work in progress over the first 12 months of existence.
Our goal is to identify and award the best boxers from within the Region. We will be using BoxRecs as our ratings guide as it is transparent and cannot be manipulated. I will be publishing ratings qualification guidelines along with other criteria's over the coming week. Our primary focus is to be a Promoter and boxer friendly organization, while being totally transparent in our operating of the Organization.
Our modus operandi will be to make it easier and cheaper for the promoter and boxer to stage an ABO Title fight. We will not be dictating to the Government appointed regulators as to official appointments. We dont appoint judges or referees opting to utilize the State (or Territory) licensed officials. This saves the promoter in having to fly in officials - paying more fee's, travel expenses, per diems / meals and the likes. The ABO will not appoint a supervisor as the titles are contested in accordance with the State or Territory rules nullifying the need to have a rules meeting. The Government official is always in attendance at the weigh in as is the promoter - boxers and trainers. There is no need to fly someone in with all of the associated costs simply to witness a weigh in and present a belt. The promoter is the person paying the money and they are capable of placing the belt around the waist of the champion. So again this saves in a Supervisors fee, air fares and associated costs.
Our Championship belt is best described as special. It is a jewel encrusted (diamond / topac & ruby) 22ct gold plated work of art that will be the prized possession in any boxers trophy cabinet. The hide used for the belt comes from the Spanish bred Toro Bravo fighting bull adding to the prestige of our championship belts. We acknowledge the trainers of our champions by awarding them with a miniature version providing them with an award for there efforts. Behind every elite boxer is a trainer who puts their all into preparing their charges and we believe they too deserve recognition.
Most of the money spent with the ABO winds up around the waist of the boxer.
We will be commencing sanctioning of events from the 1st of January 2016 and guidelines - prices and selection criteria will be published in the coming weeks.
All inquiries can be directed to Stuart Duncan on 0418 888 188 (international + 61 418 888 188) until an official administrator is appointed in the coming months.
I welcome feedback from anyone who has constructive input they can offer. I ask for patience from everyone while we fine tune our guidelines in the coming months."

Re: Australasian Boxing Organization
Excellent! There's hope for me yet to grab a title before I croak
Re: Australasian Boxing Organization
Yay,
stupid meaningless title no 644. Great original, out the box thinking to all involved!!! You truely have outdone yourselves!
It would be even better if you could provide numerous interim title holders, and why not have a ABOllox Australian champion and ABOllox New Zealand Champion, and ABOllox whatever champion, that will be the tops.
The mining industry has hit the skids presently so cheap metal is quite reasonable at the moment !!!

You havent seen this one Nader ? Mate its gone viral over the internet with people loading it as background / wallpaper etc. Barry's been struggling trying to control the use of it ... its a sensational image - thus I wanted to use it as a banner for ABOllox - truly reflective of one of the great local matchups in the last decade
---------------------------------------------------------
I have loaded as my desktop, phone picture, and have chucked away a picture of my daughter in the front room and replaced it with a tacky, year 7 pupils first attempt at using MS Paint.
bennyaha1 - Are you feeling my love for this idea?
ABOllox - Are you carefully taking down my feedback?
