Frampton's reaction to it seems to say its true,if it was ballz then he would have called Quigg out on it

maybe it was shane mosley cause he sparred him , that wouldn't be unrealistic

means nothing anyway , I would suggest everyone's been hurt in sparring at some point

all part of the box office hype anyway

Frampton letting Hearn n Gallagher get to him, playing into their hands, Quigg looks a lot more in control.

I'd suggest if you haven't lost a spar then you aren't sparring with good enough sparring partners. We saw Carl have a tough one with Eubank, didn't seem to do him any harm.

You've a point there, James and you can't really lose a spar if you learn from it, if you get knocked out wearing a headguard and 16 oz gloves though that is surely a concern.

Was John Simpson apparently, did him with a body shot while Frampton was training for the Voronin fight 5 years ago.

He'd have been a young man, it has no relevance now - I imagine he's toughened up since then.

Froch apparently has loads of bad sparring sessions. Saw a documentary where rob McCracken was saying he's either sparring really hard or done tonnes of training before he goes into sparring knackered so looks poor in sparring a lot of the time.

Then you see the result which is probably one of the best engines in boxing.

They're really grasping at strawers if that's the story they keep hinting at.

think the body shot is Quiggs best chance tbh, noticed in a couple of Carl's fights that he's winced when hit with a decent body shot, Gonzalez n Kiko both caught him.

Yep, a lot and by that I mean A LOT of lads are far more keen on being gym champions than getting the most out of their spars. Getting a good shellacking in sparring from time to time does a fighter good - providing he is intelligent enough to understand that.

Seriously doubt Quigg is referring to a body shot from 5 years ago, which would be completely irrelevant - the knowing smirk looked like he'd heard about something far more recent & damaging, like a sparring KO In the run up to Carl's last fight would be my guess.

The way Carl performed in his last fight, that would not surprise me.

It certainly does a lot more good than always having it your own way

I'm not going to mention names or go into to much detail, but Frampton has NEVER been knocked out in sparring that I know of unless that has happened very recently, but he HAS been dropped by couple of people I personally know of in sparring, as do a few other people involved in the sport, I won't also say whether they was head shots or body shots or both as don't think it would be fair, 1 being a north west fighter who wouldn't mind me saying, he was not known for being much of a puncher, I think this is what they might be referring to.

IMO nothing can be taken from that though, that north west fighter episode happening right at beginning of Framptons pro career.
And if it's true not saying it is or is not but its no disgrace again IMO being dropped, it is what it is, you can't have a shower and not get wet, same has you can't box and not get hit or caught with a cracking shot at some point by another, fit, trained, professional athlete who is throwing leather back.

This is a great fight and both have the ability and power to stop the other, I'm looking forward to it.

I'm pretty sure this is the incident they're referring to and it has properly wound Frampton up.

What we know from what we've seen in the ring is that both Frampton and Quigg have the power to hurt opponents and both can be put down themselves. This really is a super fight, about as big as any that there's ever been here given both lads have world titles. When was the last time we saw a British/Irish unified title fight where both guys were champions?
