Absolutely delighted that Anthony Crolla stopped Perez to win the WBA world title. Really nice lad and another world champion for England! THERE'S ONLY ONE ANTHONY CROLLA!!

These B level European fighters are just picking up these paper titles off of C level comp.

The true A level talent is still in northern and southern America.

Well adding 'spoiler' to the title here may not have worked......

Seriously, couldn't your post have just gone in the other thread? Do you think you and your comment is that important ?

I agree with the sentiment, although anyone who wants to avoid spoilers but still insists on browsing the Boxrec forum tonight is asking for trouble.

Indeed, never understood this. I avoid sky sports/ bbc sport if i want a suprise on match of the day.
Dont want to know a boxing result - dont go on a boxing forum.

.
Correct - the next step is invariably against another british fighter and the fight is sold as a world title fight when in reality it is a glorified british title.

Fair play to Crolla though, he seems a good lad and I hope he earns out of it.

What like the 2 guys from the Americas who fought for a middleweight paper title last night when the real champion is an Eastern European?

The stoppage surprised me.

Thought he'd win on points.

Crolla-Mitchell next year looks likely. Probably on a Brook undercard and probably PPV

Is he? Alvarez beat Cotto, who beat Martinez, who beat Pavlik, who beat Taylor, who beat Hopkins who beat everyone.

The formula will be made up of: Burns, Mitchell, Matthews, Cardle - throw in a couple of Argies you have never heard of in the middle then feed him to Cambell.

That means nothing. Cotto already went on record saying he wouldn't face GGG, that tells you everything you need to know about the real champion, 'lineal' or otherwise.

Crolla lives the right life, he's hard working and not heard anyone say a bad thing about him
Couldn't be more happy for the new Champion.

Except, it means Alvarez is the linear champion. But other than that tiny fact, yeah youre right, its means absolutely nothing...

Technically the real champ on paper was cotto, however with the catchweight nonsense i'd say he gave up that status and i suppose the next best available would be GGG,although he's yet to beat anybody of any real quality.I see canelo is already saying if he fights GGG then it will be at a weight to suit canelo as he's claiming to be the real champ :witzend:

Freddie Flintoff beat Dawson, who beat Cobb, who beat Nicholson, who beat Abell, who beat Monaco, who beat McBride, who beat Tyson, who beat Holmes, who beat Muhammad Ali.
