If Cotto wants to really show he has improved with Roach in his corner, he should rematch Trout and prove it.

Cotto is doing well to still be competitive at his age and with the miles on his clock, the bout v Alvarez was closer and more competitive than the scorecards suggested. Some styles are all wrong for him but he is still a very relevant fighter.

No doubt about it.

Thats why i was pissed when he walked away after the decision. Cotto has nothing to be ashamed of he stood there with onr of the young guns of the sport, despite clearly losing he never wilted.

I imagine it was the very wide cards that he was disgusted by, every close round went to Alvarez - Cotto was far more competitive than that and I imagine he felt cheated somewhat.

I like Cotto, not a huge fan, but I like his style. However, I applaud what he did of not granting HBO an interview. The fight was much closer than that what the score indicate and it feels like payback for not paying WBC fees. He got no credit for anything he did. What I find amazing is most people that argue that Herrera beat DSG are the same claiming the jabs don't count in boxing and that Canelo clearly won that fight. At the same time HBO was in full bias and those people gave Cotto no credit either. It seems that was fixed even before the fight started. To win that fight Cotto needed a knockout. You could argue a close win for Canelo but damn the score cards looks like it was a total domination from Canelo. It pays to have the right promoter. Jay Z has no boxing connections and DLH is well the Golden Boy. Even before the fight started I told people Cotto is not going to get a decision over there no matter if he knocks Canelo down 20 times during the fight. Even Floyd almost got screw by the judges on his fight vs Canelo.
