Rigo wins the prize as most boring

Post by Pureist »

Rigo has great skill but he is so hard to watch, really hope they match him with Loma, the work rate Loma has will blast him in 2 rounds, Bayliss not helping either, should penalise rigo for holding, ruins the fight

I agree. And even the hit and not be hit can be a bit dull at times. If I'm honest, I like a good back and forth bout.

If Bayliss did his job and warned then penalised, you would get more exchanges, Loma gets held, breaks it and unleashes, very different styles

Rigo should be destroying this level of opposition in couple of rounds. He used to KO guys like that in his early fights. This was a poor performance.

Rigondull should never be put on the televised part of a PPV ever again. If you are going to have him on a card bury him in the untelevised portion of the telecast and spare the fans the boredom.

Can you imagine both Rigo and Ward on the same card ? That would be atrocious !

I really want him to succeed but he does himself no favours at all.
Great opportunity to win over some fans and he decides to hold.
I'm a huge Rigo fan but I can't defend him after last night.

Promoters and Tv networks have given him a chance he just hasn't adapted from the computer scoring days of the amateurs.

If he's not careful his only defining professional win will be that Donaire win. He seriously had the world at his feet after that. Disappointing career since.

can't really comment much, I spent the fight playing on my smart phone, peeling my beer label and admiring my living room wallpaper.

Boxing is like Jazz...sadly watching Rigo is like listening to John Cage's 4'33 rather than enjoying some John Coltrane

Had people over for the fights last night, during the Rigo sleep walk everybody just stopped watching. People checking their phones, falling asleep, out in the kitchen talking, it was pathetic.
We even checked the local high school football playoff scores ffs!!

The networks need to simply refuse Rigo period.
Just tell the promoters if they insist on having him on the card then they have to take it elsewhere.

it's not just the holding, but he bends at the waist a lot and turns his back so there is no
scoring surface to hit, and if his opponent hits him in the back the opponent will probably
get warned. from there he clinches. he intentionally slows the pace of the fight so there
are less exchanges and less punches landed. in the donaire fight people were loudly booing.
donaire did all he could to make rigo fight, but if the ref allows all that illegal garbage then
can't fault rigo for doing it. i know this will seam like piling on, but every fight he has the
press pronouncing his name in more mangled fashion. that spelling is pronounced rigondo
this was the only real memorable thing from that donarie fight

I was gutted at Rigo's showing last night,he's one of my favs and i really wanted to see him put on a masterclass

I know he's been inactive and ringrust might be an issue but from the 1st round i noticed he hadnt lost any or much of his speed and reflexes and Francisco was the perfect foe to show us his full repetoire

I thought Rigo would be wanting to make a big statement, being the no1 in his division, avoided, unfairly stripped of his belts, under appreciated etc but he was unbelivably flat,he didnt look unable....just unwilling

Hit and not be hit is the name of the game...Unfortunately Rigo doesn't actually do much hitting. He was just awful to watch yesterday, so negative when it should have been a showcase for his talents.

No, its pronounced rigondiau as it always was. Just because Lampley only now woke and realized it doesn't make it wrong.

I can't see why it would be, it's pronounced "do" in Spanish. But hey, if you don't want to take my word for it:
