Demetrius Andrade or one of Charlos will be good for may. If he can beat one of them, set megafight with GGG for september :box: :box: :box:

He should fight GGG in May/April. Strike while the iron is hot.

I expect Canelo to do exactly as he has been saying and try to force lil g to come down to 155, 156 tops.

If last night performed well buy-wise, it will be all the leverage Canelo needs to do just that.

No catchweight, no fight (although it would probably be better for boxing fans and for legacy for Canelo to not impose one).

I don't think Canelo gives a rat's booty about the belt right now, knowing all he has to do is wait a year and a half
or two and Gennady at age 36 might have enough age on him for an easier fight (and the fight will actually sell better
then if both men keep winning).

Look for him to pick guys at 154, or even 160 lbers he feels he can beat (Lee or Jacobs, anyone?)

Has to be Golovkin Cinco De Mayo weekend. If he drops back to 154 there is no one credible to fight as they are all with Haymon.

Hope he gets stripped of the belt if the fight doesn't happen at the 160 limit.

it's ggg or canelo vacates and goes back down to campaigning at 154 and ggg
gets handed the wbc, which i just don't see canelo doing. if the lee-saunders fight
hadn't been rescheduled for the 50th time so late, i would have put him somewhere
in the picture and still have time for a cinco de mayo weekend canelo-ggg fight.
the contract canelo signed in order to get the wbc and ggg to allow the cotto-canelo
fight says canelo and ggg have to enter into negotiations within a week from now and
if they don't come to an agreement it goes up to purse bids i think next month.
that was from a wbc announcement when the canelo-cotto fight was signed.

I hope Cinnamon's balls don't shrink in the next two weeks and he agrees to fight GGG.

Fight GGG for the WBC belt like he is required to, or drop the belt and embarrass his country of Mexico for being a pu$$y.

If i was Alvarez i would avoid slicker fighters like Charlo and Andrade at all costs,he was beaten by Trout and Lara on my cards

Dont get me wrong he could KO them or get a gift from the judges against those guys but stylistically id give him a better chance of beating Golovkin

In saying that i reckon GGG beats him too

Arent there any other faded former MW titlists he can make come in weight drained for a 155 catchweight contest??

No way, just NO way. Canelo has huge experience advantage against those 2 guys, and he has very underrated defense, I thought he won both the Trout and Lara fights and has improved massively as demonstrated today. Anyway he beats them both convincingly in my opinion.

a lot of people thought lara's running and jab flicking was effective enough to steal a decision, but the trout
decision was less controversial. other than a close win over vanes when this happened...

Canelo's no pussy and he won't embarrass anyone. He fought Lara and Trout when he didn't have to and nobody else would. Whatever the outcome against Golovkin, he'll show up to fight as soon as the promoters and managers sort out the details.

A Canelo v GGG fight is hot.
It answers questions in the division and pound for pound.
Canelo had more juice to his punches and stunned Cotto a number of times and with experience Cotto rode them.
To have a scorecard as wide as one of the judges suggests a complete switch off from whatever Cotto was offering from the get go, that might have been due to the in ring size of them who knows.
Canelo does look strong enough to deal with GGG and make a difference, the way GGG fought Lemieux was more patient so it depends on which GGG shows up.

If he thought he could rip through Andrade he would have done it instead of fighting Mosley, Kirkland, Anguello, and Lopez. He beat Vanes M easier than Lara or Charlo did, and according to Hunter more skilled than Lara. 6'1" southpaw with a massive reach. He doesn't run like Lara either. Andrade is a tough fight for anyone at 154.
