How come his points increased when going from JMW to MW ?
For beating Cotto, his points increased: 1002➞1283 but now he is shown to have 1385 at MW.
It should have been 1283/160*154 = 1235

If Alvarez is ranked at middleweight, his rating should be 1283. If he is ranked at LMW, his rating should be 1385. When I opened boxrec a few minutes ago, he was ranked at LMW, and when I refreshed just now, he was back at MW. When some editor changes the division that he's ranked in, it will take until the next day for the rating recalculation to update. If he is allowed to remain ranked at middleweight for an entire day, then his rating will go back to 1283.
I think at first, some activist editor decided that he wasn't a real middleweight, hated that he was ranked at middleweight above GGG, and therefore decided to put him back down to LMW. Then, I figure some other activist editor (possibly the same one) decided that they didn't like seeing Alvarez at #1 p4p, so they decided to move him back up to middleweight to diminish his p4p ranking. But the reality is that he has a monster rating no matter what they do.
