Re: David Haye is back
That WBC list barring Povetkin, AJ and a couple of others has got to be the biggest pile of tomato cans in the history of boxing rankings. Having said that the WBA's is probably worse. Farcical
Re: David Haye is back
I suppose so, not that any of those fights got that far. Blatant hypocrisy by the BBBoC, Haye deserves a lot of criticism for being a big part of the precedent for all this Maltese and Luxembourg promotions.MarkMcBurney wrote:I would imagine he was licensed for the Fury fight, wasn't he?Coco wrote:Will the BBBoC license him after his Luxembourg adventure?
Re: David Haye is back
With De Mori ranked 10 by the WBA it's the quickest and possibly easiest route back to a ranking. Technically he wins this and he has Chagaev (WBA Regular) in his sights, if he wants to go that route.

Re: David Haye is back
It will be interesting to see which broadcaster picks up the card.
It wont be Sky as they deal exclusively with Matchroom, I wouldnt have thought it would be Channel 5 as Mick Hennessy isnt involved.
Which leaves allegedly or maybe ITV as a McGuigan is involved.

Sky do deal with other promoters if the fighter is of interest. Haye v Fury was gonna be Box Office with neither guy promoted by Matchroom. Likewise at the lower level Groves v Rebrasse was promoted by Sauerland.MrJasonM wrote:It will be interesting to see which broadcaster picks up the card.

Not saying this will be on Sky just that it's not out the equation they will be in the mix.

They've also already said George Groves will headline a Sauerland show on Sky in January.jameswilson wrote:Sky do deal with other promoters if the fighter is of interest. And there are some people who say that today's era isn't too much worse than previous ones. Mostly to try and defend Wlad and his 'greatness'.dr_devious wrote:That WBC list barring Povetkin, AJ and a couple of others has got to be the biggest pile of tomato cans in the history of boxing rankings. Anyway, can we say a Haye win via Brickfucking :??

I imagine that the BBBoC would license him but he doesn't currently hold a BBBoC license.Coco wrote:Will the BBBoC license him after his Luxembourg adventure?

Re: David Haye is back
Why would any serious heavyweight want Ruslan Chagaev's morsel of the WBA belt? Chagaev has been irrelevant for years and taking his title means inheriting all sorts of legal headaches from Fres Oquendo, Lucas Browne and the various other fringe pretenders who want a world title belt but without earning it.
Slow road to nowhere for Haye - but as usual he's only interested in using dodgy belts and hapless opponents to play the rubes.

Re: David Haye is back
Haye's comeback fight is on the same day as Wilder fights.
Wouldn't surprise me if he went straight into a bout against Deontay in the UK in early summer.

Typical Haye to go this route. Who is he trying to kid?? I'm no Hearn fan but if David was at all serious he would have gone and worked with fast eddie instead of some unknown marketing type guys who wouldn't have scobby about boxing. Do these guys even hold a promoters licence or has David still got his from the hayemaker days?

And also typical to announce a comeback 4 days before fury fights wlad, just to get some media coverage.

Haye is here for the yanky dollar thats all, hes skint. He could not give a crap about boxing or fans. The agenda is for him to make a few quid as quick as he can then piss off again. Hes not doing it for boxing. Well he aint gatting my greens.
