David "The Savior" Haye vs Mark "Don't Call My Record Padded" de Mori

de Mori chose to sign with King years ago and then when his contract with King expired he chose to sign with King again!

King hasn't been de Mori's only promoter/manager over his 15 year career. He has had many. So the blame for his padded career record can't all be laid on King.

He was a random from Oz, of course he's going to sign with Don King. Don promised him more the second time around and Mark fell for it. Trust me, he's wanted to be in with better. Exactly what level of guys he wants to fight I don't know, but he wanted to walk away from the sport during and right after his time with King.

We've heard it all before from Mark. More promises of big fights than you could poke a bloody stick at and then he turns around and repeatedly fights guys with half a dozen fights to their name. Or guys so far past it they shouldn't even be in the ring.

And lo and behold King is out of the picture and now he's fighting Haye.

Like I said, I'm not saying Mark wanted the absolute best, but I know for a fact he wanted better than he got. He just decided to stay active against scrubs rather than ride the bench waiting for that perfect fight King never delivered.

6 of Mark's first 7 opponents were debutantes. That had nothing to do with Don King. King wasn't even in the picture at that stage.

Mark has been very good at blaming others along the way. Many different others. Including many different matchmakers. But he hasn't been forced his entire career to feed from the bottom. Some of it has been of his own volition. That much has been confirmed by a couple of people who have worked with him and just happen to post on forums as well ;;-)

The problem with 'they're bums compared to the top' - is that the HW scene is still abysmal and Haye, if he ever fights, is still about as good as there is IMO.
Haye didn't turn up against Klitschko but hardly looked like he was a bum in comparison to an almost equally uninspiring performance from Wlad - it was more a case that Wlad was just less gun-shy than Haye.
Other than that, who exactly is Haye 'worlds away from'?

You're really comparing a wolf with a lion, some firework with an military bomb, a Land Rover with a truck, a pike with a shark, a bullet with a cannonball. And I fully admit, I don't want a wolf after me, I don't want firework on me, a land rover over me, hit by a bullet or bitten by a pike, but I very well know what I prefere if I had to choose.

The de Mori was due to fight Danny Williams last month (Williams pulled out with injury) left a really sour taste in my mouth. Anyone with a record like de Mori's who decides to fight Danny has to have a good look at himself.

I don't mind this match-up as a comeback fight after a long lay off.

De Mori has a record that could deceive the casuals (that's important, as they are the guys who Haye makes his money from).

I'll admit, it doesn't excite me, but I refuse to get exited about Haye until he is in the ring anyway, regardless of the opponent.

He needs to be active and fight at least twice (hopefully three times) in 2016, just to regain people's trust before aiming for a big fight.
