Re: Wladamir Klitschko (c) vs. Tyson Fury - November 28th 2015
The more I think about this from a purely objective perspective, taking out all of the hype and chat Fury has been giving about how he's going to make Klitschko look silly and how he's going to KO him and taking away the patriotic angle, Fury faces a task of truly epic proportions here.
He's fighting a guy away from home who is better technically than him in almost all areas, has significantly more power than him, has a chin which is no worse than his and has bags more experience. Let's face it, if Tyson wins this it'd be one of the biggest upsets in the sport in a long while. I think the only real way anyone can beat Klitschko now is to stop him. He won't be outboxed by Fury that's for sure and even if he is Fury would have to be utterly dominant in my view to get the decision (which seems a very remote possibility). Fury also is not a big puncher and I'd be amazed if he could take Wlad out with one shot. Haye hit Wlad with a couple of huge shots in their fight and never had Wlad in any real trouble. Does Fury hit harder than Haye? No chance in my view. Added to the fact that Fury himself hardly has a great defence or chin. It's almost impossible to see Wlad not landing numerous big shots himself.
I actually think the 1/4 the bookies are offering on a Wlad win is pretty fair. If Fury wasn't British I'm pretty sure Wlad would be more like 1/8.

Yep I remember that clearly. No way does Fury last more than 3 rounds with Wlad if he tries to box southpaw - he'll be even more wide open for Wlad's big right hand than usual.freddydoesdallas wrote:I think he means he had to stop it to tell Fury to punch properly during the fightBenelio wrote:Not true. Hughie Fury has had another opponent pull out on him.
Get a call into Bakhtov, Kreiskott, Saglam, Airich, Mazikin, Tom Dallas or Sidon, somebody/anybody...

In case anyone is interested the percentage results of the poll only adds up to 99%.

Well according to the poll its going to be a Klitschko stoppage, 10/11 with Paddy Power.
I might put £110 on, get £210 back. Shame because I want Fury to win, just can't see it happening.
Anybody else having a punt?

Amazed to read the Box Monthly poll where a lot of people think Fury is going to win, or give him a great chance. Seems to be a strange case of collective mass delusion in the Brit fight game.
Surely Fury has no chance here. Not only is he stepping up into genuine world class for the first time, he's attempting to do so in the champions home town, against a man who's actually had more world title fights than Fury has had actual fights. That's a sobering thought right there.
I doubt Tyson actually believes he can win, and if he does, I reckon that will evaporate as the ring walk moment arrives ...even if his nerves hold up, when he gets hit for the first time by a genuine heavyweight puncher I think he's in for a shocking realization: he's miles out of his depth here.
I think Wlad is going to bounce him off the canvas several times for an early and brutal KO.

Yeah he rocked him a couple of times. But Wlad shook them off pretty quickly.SteveDow wrote:Look at the shot he landed in the 12th round.Counter-puncher wrote:Pretty sure haye didn't land any 'huge' shots on wlad. Clipped him a couple of times, maybe

This kind of thing happens a lot. The British boxing commentariat get all patriotic, and whipped by the pre-fight hype. Perhaps because these people may know Fury, or have some association with him, they want to believe. And so they do. Must admit, I often find it difficult to separate my head from my heart when making predictions.MightyWarrior wrote:Amazed to read the Box Monthly poll where a lot of people think Fury is going to win, or give him a great chance. However, I think this will be a 6-round stoppage for Wlad.

I'm shocked that 22% of people on this forum are predicting a Fury win, that's laughable.

I really hope Fury pulls it off, I'm sure he will go all out, I do feel though that Vlad will need to get old for him to pull off the upset though.
