According this press release, APB (AIBA Pro Boxing) will have two fighters box on the Klitschko-Fury undercard: http://www.aibaproboxing.com/2015/11/26 ... ury-event/
BOXREC does not consider APB fights as professional despite the fact that the boxers are paid and the fights are fought and scored in an identical manner to "real" professional fights. There are even a dozen "professional" boxers who fight in APB but that didn't matter for the editors - none of those fights are in the database.
The supposed justification was that APB fights were fought within a restricted organization - no APB fighters could fight anyone outside of APB. However, now we have two APB fighters fighting on a professional undercard. It seems very logical that soon you will have APB fighters fighting non-AIBA affiliated fighters. AIBA will not be able to dominate professional boxing as is their goal if they restrict their APB banner to amateurs and hand-full of unknown "former professionals"
What will it take for BOXREC to start considering APB fights as professional? What criteria does BOXREC employ when deciding what constitutes a professional fight?

Boxrec doesn't include certain fights from Korea, for example those fought under the kpbf, so its not like the APB is a unique case in regards to database.
Re: APB Boxing on Fury-Klitschko undercard?
From what I gather reading past posts on the forum, the reason certain Korean pro bouts are not in the database is because there are multiple national boxing federations and BOXREC only considers some legitimate. This is what I am talking about. What criteria does BOXREC use to determine a professional fight? I'll start a new thread to ask the editors.

and include govt licensed professional boxers on cards staged by licensed regulated pro boxing promoters,yu265545 wrote: despite the fact that the boxers are paid and the fights are fought and scored in an identical manner to "real" professional fights.
just like the aiba's world series of boxing before it. you will now have a cavalcade of idiots saying they
don't care about state governments in the usa, canada, mexico, and many other countries who license
these bouts as professional. you know, the snotty "governments can't tell me what to think or do" types,
especially if the united states is somehow involved. stick it to the man and all that. if boxrec editors think
people should be able to park on the sidewalk in singapore, or drive the wrong way down the highway
in michigan, or set bonfires in the middle of lisbon, then boxrec shall become an alternate reality where
nations and laws don't exist, especially the laws of north america.
