Fury's Trunks

Post by diddy »

I'm surprised this hasn't been a talking point. This guy wears his trunks up to his chest literally 1-2 inches under his pectorals. There is literally no body to punch at whatsoever with the protector above the trunks which are already too high themselves. How is this legal? It's actually comical looking.

I noticed this and I agree. Are there any set laws? Usually if a boxer has a high protector the red says he will consider punches at the top of the trunks legal..... But that still ignores the fact that his body is extra protected.

There should be a hard and fast law - like the trunks / protector should not be above the belly button

Why complain about Fury's trunks in a fight Wlad dictated down to the last detail?

Clearly, if there was a problem with the trunks, Wlad had the pull to make him lower that belt line.

He didn't, because it didn't matter.

Wlad doesn't throw to the body anyway.

Non issue.

I like Wlad but its hard to have any sympathy towards him after all his pre fight tactics

What goes around comes around,Klitischko is a perfectionist who likes to control every little thing,Fury on the other hand revels in carnage and sent Wlad packing with his tail between his legs,Wlads dirty tactics played a part in his undoing

Lewis "trunks up to ears" in his first fight against Holyfield were far wose. Plus Holyfield was a very good body-puncher, while Wlad is headhunter.

Fury is now the champ so good luck to fighters getting him to lower that belt line now. That said - dude is a 6'9 skyscraper. For most heavyweights they may find him easier to hit to the body than the chin - especially if he employs tactics like he did last night. If you're him and you're able to wear your protector up to your chin you're feeling awfully comfortable in there knowing you never have to worry about taking a body shot and can just get on your bike and live behind your jab. I have a feeling his title reign is about to be just as snooze worthy as Wlad's. Inside the ring anyway.
