And we have a new era in boxing....

Post by Sklar »

Doesn't seem long since Jim Lampley uttered those words about the last Tyson. I didn't think he'd do it. Well done!

Special mention to Horse, he said this would happen for years.

Fury is gonna make an absolute fortune.

One person I'm really happy for (other than Tyson who's worked his nuts off to win that) is Mick Hennessy. He's had some shocking luck and now I hope to see him get his cut of a £10million+ quid pay day.

Completely agree re Mick Hennessy - unlikely I know but could Fury's first defence be on terrestial TV?

Have a new era, not sure how long the era will last but a tactically brilliant fight from Fury.

Word. Just started a thread on that. So glad I got this one wrong. I'll not be a johnny come lately fan, I underrated Tyson big time.

Well done to tyson and for his gerry mcguire moment, I'm still in shock.

Ps, not for me but is the title a bit too much of a spoiler

Me too. Was convinced since day one he would go nowhere but very pleased to be wrong and have miscalculated. He has grown on me too

I'm the same mate. I'm sitting with Sky news on and also prowling the net on my IPad and phone just to let it settle in! Massive shock! But a really nice shock!

Delighted for Tyson and his family, I didn't think he would do it :TU:

Hats off to Horse too as mentioned above. Been a staunch supporter and always backed Fury when most thought he couldn't reach this level.

As much as I'd like to see it I hope Fury tells Haye to jog on after the way Fury was treated with the cancelled fights. I think Povetkin slaughters Wilder if he doesn't get tagged.

On interesting thing - before the Klit win, in trade mags and one the forum, plenty were saying they thought Joshua would stop Fury now....

So - would it be acceptable to have Joshua-Fury summer 2016?

It looks like we might have finally got rid of both Floyd & Wlad, two of the most negative champions of all time. Surely that can only be good for boxing as a whole.

Assuming Joshua gets past Whyte with relative ease, I'd say it would be acceptable. At least AJ wouldn't be gunshy & would take chances to land his shots.
