So is England top dogs in boxing just now

Post by handsofstone »

The success of British boxing has been well documented recently with us having so many champs but lets get it right,i'll be the 1st to admit if it was Scotland or Wales or Northern Ireland with 99% of the titlists then they countries would be getting the credit not Britain,i mean could you imagine Scotland having all the titlists that England have and it barely getting a mention?

Whereas England have them all apart from Frampton and Selby so i feel its only fair that the rest of the UK stops taking credit from England and give them their dues, not bad when you consider the size of England :salut:

A lot gets made about Andy Murray being British when he wins and Scottish when he losses but thats bollocks,Murray always gets love from media win or lose, from where i am(Scotland ) it seems England needs to show a bit more patriosm, because i can assure you if we(Scots) had about 10 champs then you would know their Scottish and not be considered British

Dont get me wrong i consider all UK fighters British and am proud of every one of them but it seems England dont have the same patriosm as the rest of the UK and are quite happy to share the glory :TU:

It's not 'cool' to be patriotic and English. Can't argue with the amount of champs from this country right now. Long may it continue :TU:

I generally support English, Scottish, Welsh & Irish fighters equally, so I don't really care about that sort of thing.

Its so crazy right now, we have 3 No.1's in a division with Fury, DeGale and Flanagan (Linares is overrated, he was getting out boxed by Mitchell!), Brook will prove to be the No.1 WW next year and if Rigo does the right thing and moves up to fight Lomachenko then that would be 5.

Me too. Although I do lean, just a little bit, towards London fighters but not so much that it clouds my judgement.
