Best fight card of 2015

Post by colin russell »

The Mansfield Tavern is holding what I think is the best card of the year Broadhurst v Foley Shaggy King v Rocky Jerick just to name a few. Mansfield Tavern is the place to be on 28 Nov. :salut:

Great card. Miles v Daragh Foley and Dane Mulivai v Luke Blunder should be good fights as well.

This still remains a way better than average fight night on this Saturday, 28th November. The Channel 9 burb says:
The team presents a team Fenech Event, featuring bouts for the Australian super welterweight title and a main event for the IBF Pan Pacific Light Heavyweight Title live from Brisbane. Host Erin Molan, with Ray Hadley, Anthony Mundine and Billy Dib.
It is due to start at 9:30pm, but this is totally dependent on what time the day/night cricket test winds up for the evening in Adelaide. The only problem is that the caller: Hadley is a gibberer! But there is always the mute button for relief.

This is easily the best card of the year! Ace Promotions always puts on good cards. Although it's great of 9 to give boxing the coverage it deserves. I really wish Ray Hadley wasn't commentating. There are already enough boxing 'experts' in Australia, without having to regurgitate the garbage he comes up with.

Classy performance by Broadhurst. Outboxed Powdrill and then broke him down with some great shots to finish it.

What a crazy fight to finish the night.

King took Jerkic to hell and back with his unorthodoxy and iron will to win, and I swear Jerkic had very nearly had enough of it.

But kudos to Jerkic for finding it in himself to finish things with some accurate shots at the end.

Rocky looked good for the first 3 or 4 rounds then ran out of energy and was unable to dominate King for long periods.
Took a big effort to lift again and eventually land some telling punches which finally ended the fight.
To me he looked weight drained. This is a Middle / Supermiddle campaigning at SuperWelter.
It works against lesser opponents but never going to be easy against tougher opposition like Shaggy and beyond.
Jerkic was lucky to get away with this one.
Should seriously consider a move up in weights.
Gutsy effort from King.

A great learning experience for Rocky. He has a great record, both amateur and now pro. But that was a baptism of fire and it made him dig deeper than he would ever have had to before.

Dreadful production job by 9. Most streaming companies do one helluva better job. I guess it was all about promoting Opetaia & nothing else.

Some comments are with my compliments and not that of show inspector

At no stage did I hear the whistle & bell & only heard on a couple occasions 10 seconds left sticks sound in final event.
Commentators, who were viewing monitor in Sydney were just as lost. At times one would say 10 seconds left, yet the guys were still throwing punches 30 seconds later...other times it was the other way around.....they were well on the way to their stools
No Graphics either.

Rocky did a good job against a experienced opponent who was as awkward as hell a lesser talented fighter would have gracefully fell apart over
the last 3 round's but Rocky dug in his toe's and fought back like a warrior to get the win by TKO :TU: he can only get better especially if he goes old school and fights the best domestic match's available over the next 18 mth's and
stays away from unknown taxi driver's from Sth East Asia fight's against Sam Ah See or Cameron Hammond/Amed Dib even a Dennis Hogan after afew more fight's this would do the kid wonder's :TU:
