PacMan Vs Naseem

Post by BoxBuzz »

Someone posted the overly optimistic thread requesting comparisons between PacMan and Sanchez. I propose throwing those hopeful lions a more digestible opponent for Manny to theoreticaly maul. I just couldnt take the memory of Sanchez being dragged into such a discussion this early in Manny's career.

So Manny fans, please feel free to have your feast on Naseem. I think the "power" assessment/evaluation should at least prove entertaining here.

I chose boxer's of the past because I do beleive the Prince's reign is completely behind us. I don't see him being able to get back into the warrior lifestyle.

Well it wouldn't go the distance. That's all I can say with confidence. I lean towards Pacquiao because he has shown the ability at featherweight to drop any fighter, regardless of chin. Naseem had power, but his style wasn't the same as a power puncher like Pacquiao and, as MAB clearly showed, pressuring him is his downfall. Naz's chin wasn't great, and even though he could get up from knockdowns, he would most certainly be dropped in the fight. Naz definitely was faster than Pacquiao though. It's really a close call IMO. I would go for Pacquiao to win, because Barrera showed everyone the blueprint on how to beat Naz, and because Pacquiao would not relent and keep fighting until he knocks the Prince down.

Since they are both southpaws...it would be what southpaws fighting each other are...boring...because they don't know what to do with each other. Two southpaws, no matter who they are , 99% of the time make for a boring fight. Now put that Paquiao in against Danny "Little Red" Lopez, one of Sanchez's victims. Lopez would beat Paquiao, hands down. He would probably get off the deck to do it too!! Paquiao is over rated..... :TU:

Pressuring Naz? MAB stayed just out of punching range, made Naz come to him all night long and nailed him with counters. I doubt Pacquiao would replicate this style, but do agree with you that I'd favour him slightly in this matchup.

Pac-Man in my estimation showed an important ability against Morales. The ability to adjust. He has shortened up that straight left thrown out of his southpaw stance. Eric had no answer for it . He ate alot of them. If Manny continues to grow like that he could be a great fighter. He used to really wing that punch. He beats Naseem.

This would be a very interesting fight. Pacquiao is known for his relentless style but Hamed is known for his power. Pacquiao is wild at time but Hamed style is un like any other would be a very interesting fight. But seeing as how Pacquiao would come to Hamed that would just make it easier for Hamed to ko him. But it would be a good fight.
