Jonny Nelson Gloves are Off!!
Re: Jonny Nelson Gloves are Off!!
Definitely the worst one yet, but it's down to Nelson for me, he needs to learn how to control the conversation when it needs controlling. It's a hard position for him to be in I imagine.
Re: Jonny Nelson Gloves are Off!!
I liked whyte in this. Joshua is clearly wound up by him despite what Nelson was trying to say. Johnny was dreadful, really biased and whyte handled it well.

Refusing to start, refusing to answer, speaking over him, speaking over Joshua. Johnny is struggling with that job as it is, poor bastard, not to have someone interrupt him every second.
I really start to dislike Whyte with his constant driveling, like George Groves mark 2. How is the man who claims that he wants to provide for his children then trying to bully Joshua into street fight. I think fake is exactly appropriate description for Whyte. Dillian the fake villain.
I think whyte is jealous but his points are valid. I don't think Joshua is a genuine guy, I don't know weather he is just trying to be a better person which is nothing to be ashamed of and should be celebrated or he could be the type of person who is one person in front of the camera and another behind closed doors. I'm undecided.
Personally I hate all the pr photos, rehearsed interviews, over hyping and also Joshua's moronic fans piss me off.
One thing is for sure Dillian whyte isn't intimidated by AJ.
I didn't realise the amateur fight was whytes first fight.
Brilliant post but it's whether not weather. I apologise for being an anal wanker.

Drug dealer v Drug cheat...
I won't be parting with £17 to watch this one unless there's a chance of a double knock out....

It wasn't real drugs, it was only da errrrb. I like Whyte but he sounded like a kid in this "let go know then, I'm cock of the school". I could see genuine hate in AJ's eyes though, think he's getting really p'd off.MarkMcBurney wrote:Drug dealer v Drug cheat...

Re: Jonny Nelson Gloves are Off!!
I thought Nelson was alright,i thought he was just trying to get to the root of why Whyte was so resentful of Joshua,i thought Whyte was the only 1 who came across bad, offering Anthony outside for a fight etc
Its a shame all the talk is of PPV because its a great match up but Sky managed to yet again ruin things

Re: Jonny Nelson Gloves are Off!!
Talk shows - which this essentially is, but with backward chairs and bad lighting - don't really work when someone talks over the other person so it was pretty much ruined by Whyte. All we were left with were threats to fight on the street, back and forth accusations of fakeness and some weird half a story about borrowing trousers.
Whyte is trying desperately to get under Joshua's skin who is in turn trying desperately to keep a lid on it

Re: Jonny Nelson Gloves are Off!!
i heard a Rumour that AJs mask slipped during the filming and he started pointing at the Camera saying he was the baddest man on the planet and was going to eat Dyllians Children
this was not shown in the Skys Propaganda edited version though.
to be honest I thought they both struggled in front of the cameras , Ajs used to being asked the right questions but Dyllian was erratic and think Aj was struggling to come across as decent also
it was pretty poor to watch to be honest , just didn't really flow , was like an angry argument in a pub /schoolground before punches are usually thrown.

Re: Jonny Nelson Gloves are Off!!
Yeah AJ had the perfect opportunity to shut Whyte down by saying something like "Just grow up Dillian, why would I fight you in the street for nothing when I can knock you out in front of thousands and get paid for it?" But instead he just stared at him.Gazmac81 wrote:i heard a Rumour that AJs mask slipped during the filming and he started pointing at the Camera saying he was the baddest man on the planet and was going to eat Dyllians Children

Re: Jonny Nelson Gloves are Off!!
Nelson had a nightmare could tell who the sky fighter was.he kept saying to Whyte why are you jealous and never quoting Joshua on the things he said.
Re: Jonny Nelson Gloves are Off!!
Joshua looked stoned.
Re: Jonny Nelson Gloves are Off!!
Why are they even doing a 'Gloves are Off' for this fight. It should be reserved for World title fights only in my opinion.
They are pushing Whyte as the villain here, they want to make him seem like a dick so more people will but the box office to see him get his comeuppance. It is all about getting more buys.

I'm in the minority, granted but I like Jonny on this.
I thought he did a good job here.
Joshua looks well hacked off - short night I reckon on Saturday

Because they want people to part with £16 to watch two prospects fight for a British title, they have to hype it up. Warren got some stick for PPV but his cards were awesome compared to this.Batley18 wrote:Why are they even doing a 'Gloves are Off' for this fight.

I want to watch it, but no way am I spending 16 quid to watch what will probably be a 2-3 round fight between two prospectsNightmare Roy wrote:Because they want people to part with £16 to watch two prospects fight for a British title, they have to hype it up. I actually think it could be a cracker of a fight, but PPV? Now way they are taking the absolute pish here.jamesmcdonnell wrote:I want to watch it, but no way am I spending 16 quid to watch what will probably be a 2-3 round fight between two prospectsNightmare Roy wrote:Because they want people to part with £16 to watch two prospects fight for a British title, they have to hype it up. I'll be amazed if Dillon the villain stands up to AJ power, there's only one way this fights going and its Joshua knocking deluded Dillon out sky just hype it up so the general public buy into it.

I think it's likely to be brief either way it goes - Whyte isn't a defensive fighter, so he's going to either get startched quickly, or go looking for Joshua, and probably end it quickly.
Of course, as with so many things, it may pan out in a totally unexpected way, with Joshua winning on points after early fireworks.
Either way, 16 quid isn't get spent to find out.

Maybe, I can just hear the SKY wrap up:pimp wrote:I'll be amazed if Dillon the villain stands up to AJ power, there's only one way this fights going and its Joshua knocking deluded Dillon out sky just hype it up so the general public buy into it.
Adam SMith: " Anthony Joshua just stunned the world with a powerful display againt the only British man to have beaten him..... What an impressive way to show the world that he's ready to move on to bigger and better things? WHat do you think Johnny?"
Johnny Nelson: "Well he did what was expected of him, beating an inexperienced novice with little chance of winning, on a totally unmerited pay per view show for the Btitish title."
Adam: "Er Johnny Are you using the correct script? You seem to be confused about what a world beating, value for money PPV this was?"
Johnny: "oh sorry Adam I was reading from FW's next column... My mistake.." 'CLEARS THROAT'
" what a tremendously unexpected and powerful performance from Joshua! No one, but no one Adam expected this ending! This was a genuine 50/50 fight between two world class contenders, and what I have to say Adam is, what the PPV Sky viewers have seen is the birth of a LEGEND...."
Adam : "that's what I thought you wanted to say..... Now make sure you read your lines properly before the fight and get the right paperwork!"
Johnny : "Sorry Adam, please don't hit me again....."
