Re: How do you see the Wlad v Fury rematch going?
Pretty much the same. Wlad turns 40 in a few months, I don't see him suddenly turning into a guy who will throw 50-60 punches per round. He'll still be gunshy and he'll still lose rounds just based on activity.
Re: How do you see the Wlad v Fury rematch going?
I'm not sure why the first one turned out the way it did, so I'm not sure how the next one ends.
If Tyson won the first because he out boxed him, got his tactics spot on and never let Wlad do his thing. Then Wlad could change his tactics and alter the end result (perhaps letting the right hand go and knocking Fury out)
If Tyson fights as well again and Wlad takes more risks maybe Tyson walks Wlad on to a big shot.
If Wlad just had an off night, he could up his performance and get the win
If Wlad is done/too old. Then another 6 months is only going to make that worse and Fury wins every bit as comfortably.
If, as some claim, Klitschko was never any good and Fury beating him proved that, because he's just a big unskilled lump, then..
Ach that's just pish!

Re: How do you see the Wlad v Fury rematch going?
I think Wlad wins the re-match and the defeat will re-energize his passion for boxing.
Re: How do you see the Wlad v Fury rematch going?
Wlad got used to winning without taking a significant risk, basically winning without actual fighting. Using his jab and excessive clinching, he basically minimized the risk. It worked with smaller opponents, but didn't work with Fury. I don't think Wlad will be able to change the way he has fought for a few years, so Fury will probably win again.

Same as the first fight to be honest.
With the movement and jab Fury can do enough to win another decision.
Unfortunately Wlad looks too old to pull the trigger now.

imo. two hings. fury did surpricingly well, by furys standards that is...
and i think vlad just had an off night. wlad wins inside 6 in the rematch.

Re: How do you see the Wlad v Fury rematch going?
It will go the same way unless Wlad decides to actually go on the offensive if this happens then either he or Fury will get stopped. Hopefully he will realise he has nothing to lose now so will go all out which will make for a more interesting fight.

After shitting the bed the first time around, the chance of a repeat or worse beating for Vlad is more likely. He will fight scared all night again, so hopefully Tyson knocks him out to illustrate how nuts some of these predictions are.

There is already a thread, or threads, on this same subject.
Re: How do you see the Wlad v Fury rematch going?
Wlad will do what he should have the first time.
Cut off the ring, get low, and come in behind combinations started with a double jab.
Wlad by KO in 6

Wladimir will fight far more aggressively and overpower Fury. Wladimir to win by KO.

What has changed is he has actually fought Fury now, and Fury's new style he used to beat Wladimir is now exposed. Wladimir can look at the tapes, and he has, and has made the desicion he can do things differently and beat Fury. Wladimir was far more successful in the 12th round were he was more aggressive. It would also be a good idea to get a trainer he actually listens to, and more appropriate sparring partners. Wladimir will win the rematch by KO. It will be Ali-Spinks all over again.

Brilliant.
Wilder is right, Fury is very flawed.
Tyson just happened to be in with a guy in Wlad that was so used to doing things a certain way
that style-wise he could not exploit them.
Hell, Cunningham was more competitive than Wlad. I am certain Klitschko will have a better plan next time.
Fury needs to enjoy the belt while he has it cuz I have a feeling it wont be a long reign.

Re: How do you see the Wlad v Fury rematch going?
What surprised me about the first fight is how mystified wlad was by furyss tactics and how little he threw.
Can wlad change his tatics next time around? Yes
Can wlad throw more? Yes
Will tyson already have a new game plan for the new and improved wlad? Probably judging by how well he was able to spoil the long running champ.
Both don't possess a granite chin so if they both take risks then maybe we will see a knockout? If it comes to a KO then im picking wlad as he has more power than fury.

Re: How do you see the Wlad v Fury rematch going?
I think that we might see the best performance by Wlad in many years. For the first time in a long time, he's got a goal to avenge a loss. The way he's walked through people for the last 8 years, i'm sure that he found it tough to get up for some of those fights.
I have no idea how Fury is going to be handling this victory. Does he go all Roberto Duran and party for 3 months eating 8 steaks a day or does he handle it as a professional and quickly gets back to the gym? If it were me, I know that i'd still be partying with those belts and no where nearly done doing that.

Re: How do you see the Wlad v Fury rematch going?
I think Wlad's been simply going through the motions for the last couple of years.
And it's been especially noticeable since the passing of Manny Steward. IMO Banks has shown almost no ability to get Klitschko the least bit motivated or fired up between rounds. Thus the recent increase in the amount of challengers that have been able to last the full 12 rounds with him.
These things, plus the inevitable aging process, some complacency in training camp I'm sure, his new role as a father of an infant daughter & his wife Hayden's postpartum health issues all resulted in him being ripe for the picking. Especially when faced with such a physical & stylistic oddity in Tyson Fury.
Wlad looked completely flat & uninspired physically, mentally & emotionally. And, as a result, Fury didn't really have to do much in order to win on points. And, credit where it's due, Fury did his part. But other than opening that cut & befuddling Klitschko with his movement, he hardly looked impressive in the process. And, unless Wlad ages several years in the interim & undergoes a total crisis of confidence between now & the rematch, I can not see Fury being able to hurt him.
I think Wlad will be properly focused & motivated for fight II. Perhaps, even a wee bit angry.
And he'll channel it into regaining the title. Inside the distance.
