Looking at the schedule, it appears they were all set to make another fornicate up with the 28 day suspension. Liam Milner was stopped by Nick Quigley in Total Combat just over a week ago, but he was then added to the show on Sunday.

Total Combat is not regulated by any board though is it?

Officially there would be no suspension.

That doesnt mean i disagree with you, not at all.

But with no official paperwork etc they have nothing to refer to.

No different to if a BBBofC boxer suffered a small blackout from falling down the stairs, they would need to actually know it happened to prevent it, so that takes a bit of common sense from the boxer himself i think.

In all fairness you found that out, so maybe no reason anyone else couldnt i guess.

youd think after all the fuss of the foriegn lad being allowed to box after being koed the week before this wouldnt happen again wouldnt you.

This is one of the reasons your not allowed to do another conbat sport while registered with the bbbofc this is serious stuff people get hurt in the boxing ring and letting things like this pass so soon after making the same gaffe is just worrying

Firstly, I too do not disagree with either yourself or Expe.

However, what if a boxer was scheduled to fight on say a BBBofC show and they were knocked out in sparring the previous week ?

Or what if they were involved in say a kickboxing show a couple of weeks before or were playing rugby and took a knock, or got hit by a car outside a bottom of the table Midlands premiership football club etc. etc.

What is the process for picking this up ? - does it have to be formally reported to the Board ?

That's the worrying thing spudder. Its been announced by the promoter (Mark Lynons) & Nathan DeCastro but no mention from rio on Facebook or the websites he's running. But he has posted today on Facebook so its not down to illness.
I just hope he ain't still selling tickets and anyone whos purchased tickets thru him gets there money back.

He's been advertising this mega event for months personally I don't beleive a word of anything mr di caro says anymore everybody has given him the benefit of doubt on any statement he has made on here or indeed anywhere he is an excellent media publicist but that's as far as it goes but having said all that I appreciate what he is trying to do but sometimes it would be nice if all contracts were signed for these headline contests before the show is announced coz when it goes pear shaped he has then got legal documents which he can act upon to compensate all concerned ie boxers who have lost money etc all because properly signed contracts haven't been vetted and signed well that's my opinion anyway

When you register with the board yr not allowed to do any other contact sports because of this reason.
Also if someone is koed in sparring its up to the trainer to bring it too light. If it was the case of this happining in the gym or as you say by a car then sure no one can really moan too much but seeing as it was advertised as a full contact competition and the results were widely known on the net and taking into account the whole fuss of the foriegn guy getting koed a week after being koed and the statements that this would never happen again after an oversight for it too happen a month or so later and its fairly common knowledge to fans on a forum but not common knowledge to the guys in charge of safety etc is something that needs to be fixed.
I want them to do well but joe public looks at boxing as just boxing they do not differnciate between the boards and if a big scandal ie,a koed boxer being badley hurt or even killed when he should have been under a suspension will make the whole of boxing look bad.If you are going to run under the heading of professional boxing which they have every right too this simpley isnt good enough or safe

 :shame:

C'mon lads...

While we all agree with what your saying re: safety jon , the rest is codswollop from the last few posts people have made..

1) Ive never in my life seen robert smith make a comment when a show has been cancelled for starters, as its the promoters job to do so...

2) Contract signing for fights to ensure they are compensated... How many BBBofC shows by a certain promoter got cancelled not too long back... its not strictly reserved for mbc shows to have cancellations... And boxers i referred to a pro manager and turned pro, before i joined MBC who were due to box on a show last week or week before that was cancelled, i guess they for some reason dont fall under the same catagory then as they arent MBC, in fact one of them also had his fight before that cancelled due to a cancelled show too, both by completely different promoters, both within a week of the date, on neither occasion was anyone compensated.

3) boxers trainers reporting they got Ko'd in sparring.... yeah right... being stopped with a body shot in a fight also can result in a suspension, or a cut... all of which i have seen happen in sparring a week or so out from fights and yet the trainers/managers didnt report anything...

If your going to pull people on something... at least have a balanced outlook on things, because to mention any of those 3 points when referring to MBC is daft... may as well just say Boxing full stop, not just a specific organisation.

edit: point 4... mentioning " i hope hes not still selling tickets and that everyone gets refunds" sounds like your implying Rio would steal money from people..... Uncalled for in all honesty... hes admitted in the past hes put money into mbc and yet to make anything back... hes lost money in the aim of developing MBC, that to me doesnt sound like a thief

Again i just pointed out that the guy was in an organised competion that was very well publicised got koed then was allowed to box a week later??

The stuff about gyms and stuff is theory and if someone got koed in the gym and boxed on mbc id say it can happen and unless the trainer does something theres not a lot you can do.

and once again rather than pointing out that this is something that should be avoided we go a round about route to point out that the bbbof c should be doing it better :TU:

If people honestly think getting koed in a combat sport then getting koed in a boxing match the week after then fair play we are not about the gym or a footy match or a car crash where the line blurs we are on a bout well publicised form of combat sports that people knew about and knew the results.

If this being careful after the foriegn lad being koed while on a suspension then i can see why so many people are talking.

When at fault the best way is to fix the problem not point at the nearest competition and say well they did something wrong once.Raise yr standards dont be happy to compare yr norm to the lowest level of the competition.

Im sure you will find some way to point at the other board and say look at them rather than just saying twice now in a matter of months people who should be on suspension have been stopped why is this happining.

One question answers this does anybody think a man who was stopped quite publicly in a full contact boxing type event be allowed to box professionally a week later? Dont need to know what anybody else would be doing in a hypothetical situation or what quetion should be answered on a completly differnt matter.Does anybody here think that kid should have been in the ring only a month after publicly declaring how the mistake with the foriegner would never happen again.

Dont quite understand this as i didnt even mention half this stuff. The guy asked what should happen if someone is koed in sparring i said what really is the only option not what actualy happens.

Again it looks like smoke and mirrors to take the point away from the important aspect a stopped lad was allowed to box.No good distracting away from a real problem fix it .Works better in the long run.

The difference is Damien, neither Rob Smith or the board promote the shows in the way the MBC do.
Mr.DiCaro is constantly advertising shows on his Facebook, websites etc. He takes more of an active role than most of the promoters do.
This blurred line is another worrying aspect that seems to engulf those associated with the MBC.

Jonp has made valid points about safety and your strange response to it. No one was talking about the board!

You've previously mentioned about going down the board route yourself if things progress for you. I'd be very careful throwing your hat in with the MBC. They seem to be an accident waiting to happen and have hardly any credibility left.

Just read through this post mate. If you can't see it for what it clearly is, then there's no hope!

Did you have the blue pill or the red pill Damien ?
If you still believe Rio and his Money Blagging Commission (MBC) are a credit to the sport then I have some news for you - its just an illusion. He didn't look that ill in the pic of last Saturday wrapping the belt around Tyson Caves waist did he ?
Rios number is probly up in the UK and im guessing he's next base to spin his web from will be Canada.

Went fairly well.

The spectators enjoyed it, which is what i always aim to be the main factor on if it was a success or not.

Always things i believe can be improved and will try to implement a couple of changes for next one (which will be easter weekend by looks of things).

Results havent been updated on here yet, i know they usually take a bit longer for MBC shows, so for anyone interested the results of those were as follows

Ian Clarke won on points 40-36 vs Joe Brailsford

Gary Silverman won TKO 1 vs Thomas Murry

Carwyn Herbert won on points 40-36 vs Will Cairns

Nathan DeCastro won TKO 1 vs Eduards Gerasimovs

Although the Clarke vs Brailsford fight was good it isnt reflected in the scoring...the scoring is correct but it was a closer affair than it looks on paper.
Decastro had what was on paper his toughest test so far, although its still below his actual level in reality, i expected it to end the way it did.
Silverman was just too big for murry, Hes massive for the weight and Murry probably shouldnt be as high as he was to be fair, late notice change of opponent though.
Herbert is a nice slick counter puncher and while Cairns is a tough game lad, Carwyn will probably 40-36 most of his early opponents, i cant just throw him into the deep end as soon as he turns pro, hes got things to learn and find his way as a pro.

Bare in mind it was my first show as a pro... ive no doubt got things to learn myself too. Was also 12 unlicensed/semi pro fights
