You knew she was a boxer, but apparently didn't know her name or the fact that she is among the most accomplished female boxers of all time.Aaronide_ger wrote:I knew she was a boxer, Boxing is very different to MMA, It doesnt mean she will be able to compete. I'd also take it from your "F#ck MMA" attitude that you are not a UFC fan, and therefore not really in a position to comment on who is known or unknown in the organization. The UFC is notoriously good at hyping the crap out of its product; you think they'd let a high level athlete from another sport compete with little fanfare? Holm is very well known in the UFC and ranked in the top ten. By the end of the build up they will have the casual fan believing she is an absolute monster who can knock out an ox with a single jab.

We all Know is is getting Knocked the F#ck out, She cant crack an egg with just 9 Knockouts..
U got Very far away from my point, which is that this fight is NOT PPV worthy, 99,9% Rousey will win in an one sided fight..

Rousey won't knock her out, she will submit her.Aaronide_ger wrote:Ohh yea? UFC fans are typically MMA fans in general, so yes she is well known. It's not as if UFC fans don't have access to fighters records, youtube, or even *gasp* watch OTHER mixed martial arts promotions. That's like saying anyone who thinks the WBO is the best ABC org doesn't know who Floyd is since he isn't ranked by them. Everyone in the mixed martial arts world knows who Holly Holm is. And UFC fans have been buzzing about her as a potential Ronda opponent since she KTFO Allanna Jones.
As for the fight not being PPV worthy, I completely agree.
Re: PPV sales
Is there a comprehensive list of the TV Ratings for PBC cards on NBC, CBS, ESPN, etc?
I've only seen reports here and there, and mostly good numbers. Is there a complete, quick-view, list?
It'd be interesting to comparable those numbers with the UFC on FOX ratings. Those cards mainly feature the "B" level stars as the headliners (maybe "A-" level sometimes), and pretty decently stacked undercards.

UFC is free in the UK on a subscription channel costing £15 (c.$19) a month, and boxing PPV's are £16.95 (c.$20). Mayweather/Pac was £20 ($25).
As you were.

Ronda vs Correia
Ronda vs Cat Zingano
Where those 2 matchups not mismatches? Are we watching the same thing? pits the best against the best? I laught at this sh#t.
@CrazyHorse U are so right, no way they did 900K, these are not the official numbers, they NEVER released official numbers.
I believe they are deceiving people.
it is matching the best at any given time.
Smoke and mirrors. That is what I think of their match making.

Re: PPV sales
I've been told over the years that Meltzer's numbers for PPV sales are usually high for UFC. When real numbers have been released, they're almost always lower. One rumor I heard was that the sole WEC PPV that supposedly did 200,000 actually only did like 40-60.
Also RE: UFC matchmaking - they do have some good fights from time to time. Sometimes they don't. Usually buyrates are reflective of the quality of matchmaking. But anyone who looks at Jon Jones making title defenses against Vitor Belfort and Chael Sonnen who'd claim "the best always fight the best in the UFC" is either on their payroll or a moron.

But the best can't avoid the best. That's more the point. Long standing champions will fight some poor fighters or we'll see a deluge of rematches. Look at who were the top 205 fighters in the world when Jones was on the way up. Who didn't he fight? Is there anyone you can really say "I wonder how he'd have got on against if only they'd fought."? From his own generation at least, not for me.

Do you guys actually think the match making for UFC 194 is smoke and mirrors? This is one of the best cards you will ever see in all of combat sports as far as match making goes.kidbazooka1 wrote:Bingotiny_acres wrote:[

UFC match making is head and shoulders above boxing on a consistent level. The best always fight the best.... Always. Give me some examples of some fights that should have been made that never were when they should have been made. I'd love to hear it.
It all boils down to you showing your obvious lack of knowledge of the sport by making such comments.

Re: PPV sales
They are great marketers. The PPVs are a small portion of what they offer. They have deals with Fox, and they offer fights on UFC Fight Pass. The free events get viewers interested, and they promote the hell out of their events. Some PPVs do lack, but that happens in every sport. But, they do pit the best against the best. Followers of the sport understand this, and that is why their PPV events don't bomb.Aaronide_ger wrote:@verballistic
How can the US people KEEP paying these PPVs thats what I dont understand, we have 3 major PPVs this year and in all boxing sites they are uploading humorous pics of people crying over "Losing all their money" from those PPVs..
WHILE IN UFC THEY KEEP MAKING event after event PPVS!!!!! they had 14 PPVs last year.. this is Ridiculus and beyond belief.
