Samuel Peter returns Dec 12th vs Ustinov

Post by Redback Rasta »

Can't say I was pleased to read this matchup on the Roy Jones Jr vs. Enzo Maccarinelli undercard.

Peter has fought once in about the past 5 years!

Though he has had a string of offers, he has wisely turned them down.....until now.

Ustinov is shameless when it comes to beating up obviously mismatched opponents. He thought nothing of matching up and beating up the pathetically poor Chauncy Welliver not long back.

Gutted. He was a good solid heavyweight in his day.
Such a Shame seeing these type of guys as opponents for not that much money

I've ofter wondered if Vladimir Hryunov offers decent money to potential opponents for his boxers?

Unlike Andrey Ryabinsky, he's not a rich man.

Hey - good to see you* posting here! Did you turn it down? There would have been a crazy size difference between you and Ustinov!

* Add 5 Dec 2015: I looked at your back posts. It seems that you are not JW at all and are just using his name.

Well, don't forget that Tyson Fury shamelessly stood him up not that long ago!

Yep real shameless when his Uncle was on his death bed and his wife had a miscarriage :witzend:

Come on he has had one cancellation on his part in his entire career.Give the guy a break

Wasn't Ustinov is a last-minute replacement anyway.

Plenty of other fighters have fought despite even much worse personal tragedies, and to answer Rexob, yes Ustinov was a last minute replacement for Haye who had backed out of the fight yet again, but they went through the preparation and the tv presser, and Ustinov should have been at least given a postponement. I wonder if Ustinov was able to sue for breach of contract or something.

I feel like, at age 38, Ustinov is too old to be climbing the ladder so slowly. He's on a streak of fighting several opponents who are approximately #150 in the world. It's sad to think that his wins against Michael Sprott and Monte Barrett are likely the peak of his career, and he will probably not defeat a top 50 opponent ever again.

I expect Ustinov to win, Samuel Peter is simply too old, he probably struggles to win against most top 100 boxers.

It's him. Why on Earth would somebody select J.D. of all boxers to make a fake account on? No disrespect to J.D. either with that.

I saw a post where he was referring to him in the third person, as tho he was talking about someone else. Oh well, some people talk about themselves in the third person...
