Your analogy was lazy garbage, my analogy was precise down to the smallest detail.digzee wrote:Haha didn't even answer my question, do you always answer a question with a question?Lackeos wrote:Garcia KO'd Khan, beat Peterson (the other most recent guy to beat Khan), and schooled Matthysse (the next highest ranked guy in the division at the time). I would rank Alexander above Maidana if Alexander KO'd Maidana, beat Maidana's other most recent conqueror (Mayweather), also beat the next highest ranked guy in the division (Pacquiao), and was undefeated. Are you telling me that you wouldn't rank Alexander above Maidana if Alexander was undefeated, KO'd Maidana, beat Mayweather, and schooled Pacquiao?digzee wrote: 3 years ago at a different weight, would you rank Alexander above Maidana?
Flaws in your analogy
-Devon Alexander has 4 losses, 3 of which come after the Maidana win. Garcia has 0 losses ever.
-Outside of Alexander's win over Maidana, Alexander has never supplemented that win by dominantly beating the highest ranked fighter in the division other than himself. Garcia was #1 when Matthysse was #2, and Garcia schooled Matthysse.
-Alexander beat Maidana by a fine margin, but Garcia beat Khan by an utterly dominant margin.
-Outside of the Alexander-Maidana match-up, Maidana's resume soared by beating Broner and unofficially beating Mayweather. Outside of Garcia-Khan, Khan has another loss pulling him down, and his wins have not been as exceptional.
It seems that if the Current Scene has diminished in quality, then it's likely as a result of your horrible analogies, not as a result of my good analogies. Perhaps you should find an example where fighter B is ranked higher than fighter A, despite the fact that fighter A is undefeated, still in his prime, has dominated fighter B, has dominated other elite fighters, has beaten one of fighter B's other conquerors, while fighter B has multiple losses and hasn't notched any elite wins since the defeat.
