Mick and Tyson
Mick and Tyson
Does anybody know if Tyson Fury has a long term contract with Mick Hennessey or is their arrangement more on a fight by fight basis ?
I only ask because last week after the fight and tonight he made a point of saying that Tyson is "loyal" and he increasingly has the look of a plain chubby bird who knows that she is punching above her weight with he boyfriend and is living in constant fear that he is going to dump her for somebody fitter.

Re: Mick and Tyson
One could argue the reason the decision in Germany went to Fury was due to his promoter.
Why would Fury bail on Mick? And for who? Wank Warren? Hearn and Matchroom? Sauerland lol?
Whatever the case may be, Tyson Fury had Mick Hennessy as his promoter when he lifted the heavyweight championship from Klitschko, and that cannot be changed.

Re: Mick and Tyson
How do you mean? In what way could Mick Hennessy influence the decision of a multi world title fight in Germany? Tyson got the decision because he out thought Wlad and out landed him. I hope he doesn't ditch Mick though and I doubt he will.Matchup_Analyzer wrote:One could argue the reason the decision in Germany went to Fury was due to his promoter.

Well Tyson and his familly love to spruce about being honarable men , loyal ect ect .. and up to now he seems to be a man of his word , That i respect and the more i see and hear off him the more i like him .
I really do think that people just have to chill out and take what he says the way its meant a wind up , said with tongue in cheek ,, i'm a northener and its part of our makeup ,, my lads laugh at what he says and then ask me , do you write his scripts Just look at his lovely wife and how she reacts over him ,, she laughs at what he says and calls him a nutter , watch Pete and hugh around him they work hard not to burst out laughing

Not questioning the Furys, however, from my experience Gypsies live by a fierce allegiance to a strict moral code... When it suits... when it doesn't they bend the rules to their own liking.coneye wrote:Well Tyson and his familly love to spruce about being honarable men , loyal ect ect ..
Re: Mick and Tyson
You have to think if he was to work with the likes of Haymon his purses would double compared to what Hennessy could deliver, he is very marketable now. Must be very tempting for team Fury to court other promoters offers right now. Loyalty is one thing, but they are not daft, if the right moves are made Fury is now in a position to earn mega money. A switch to someone like Al Haymon must be mouth wateringly tempting.

Re: Mick and Tyson
Mick Hennessy has done a good job with Tyson Fury ... Nope its outstanding.
In my 16 years in professional boxing Hennessy is one of the very bedt negoitiators going ... Ok the fight didnt go ahead but if Fury and Haye did get it on a couple of years ago Fury would have got £5m.
Team Fury and Team Hennessy hold all the aces there is no need to move now if they hold their nerve.
Say it again Hennessy did an outstanding job manoeuvering Fury within the various rankings and getting the best possible money for Fury against Klitschko.
If Fury was going to move it would have been before now.

I think there's been some luck involved. Fury was fighting Vinny Madalone in Somerset four fights ago, and it wasn't full.
Re: Mick and Tyson
What did Fury earn for the Klitschko fight, anyone know?
And now that he's the champ, what do you think he should be getting for the rematch?
Guess that depends on where its held. If its at Wembley, surely £5 million or more? Would it fill Wembley though, the first fight was a bit of a dud, not sure there will be quite enough hyperbowl next time round to fill Wembley.

Re: Mick and Tyson
I believe it was minimum £2m going up to £4m depending on PPV numbers. The deal was he would get paid more if there was a rematch. He could potentially make a fortune if he gets through this one, just think of the possible big UK fights he could have, AJ, Haye and Wilder says he's up for coming over here too.ALI wrote:What did Fury earn for the Klitschko fight, anyone know?

Re: Mick and Tyson
I read the other day he could make up to 15 million for the Klitschko rematch. I read it in the Sun though....... Him and Wilder over here would fill a stadium I reckon. It would definitely interest the wider public. The build up would be fun.ALI wrote:What did Fury earn for the Klitschko fight, anyone know?

Re: Mick and Tyson
it Degale is banking £1.5mill for dusting Bute you better believe Tyson will be on £7.5 - £10milion for the rematch. He will stay with Mick. Shades of Hagler and the Petronelli's in as much as they run a tight operation.
Re: Mick and Tyson
They won't need to necessarily. The build up will sell the fight.leejonesjnr wrote:The 'wider public' won't know who Deontay Wilder is.Stuarty30 wrote:I read the other day he could make up to 15 million for the Klitschko rematch. Perhaps, though Wilder isn't usually one for mouthing off etc. People drawn in by Tyson Fury rolling around on the floor in a costume etc will be equally interested in any fight he takes part in from this stage on I would've thought.Stuarty30 wrote:They won't need to necessarily. Re: Mick and Tyson
Love the way Tyson has stayed loyal to Mick, who really deserves a break at long last.
After moving Carl Froch up beautifully through the rankings, getting him prime-time ITV, doing all the hard work... he then gets his fighter nicked by Junior ( Hearn ). Then DeGale is nicked by Junior as well - ok Mick had him fighting like a scrub in shopping centres in the middle of fecking nowhere, but JD has NO fan base, so what the hell could you do there? where as Junior just shoved him on the big undercard of Mick's other former fighter, Froch, and just has to wait for the big payday and title shot to come along, easy as you like.
Must have been infuriating for Mick - so it's great to see Tyson sitting ringside with him on Saturday night and staying loyal.
I'm not sure how much Mick would've made from Tyson's title win, any ideas ?

Yeah true. Both quite colourful characters. It wasn't so long ago that Mick was doing a deal with Warren over Fury.
That suddenly went quiet ..............

Re: Mick and Tyson
If Fury had signed for Hearn he would have been on Saturdays O2 card against Billy Nobody for Penta Continental Heavyweight Title (Interim version), Hennessy has done a brilliant job so far as his manager, the end result doesn't lie

It is this loyalty which sings louder than any comments Tyson has on anything else.
Mick deserves to be there. British, Commonwealth, European, WBC or the Top Dog.
He's rarely waivered.
