Re: Fury stripped of IBF heavyweight title
Fury is the linear champion. end of.
but if the titles split...im ok with that, it just means more fights happening.

Re: Fury stripped of IBF heavyweight title
Absolute disgrace.
Lets say that Wlad won the first fight in a SD classic, and they went for a rematch, would the IBF have stripped Klitschko? No chance. Took Martin 10 rounds to KO Zumbano Love, took Anthony Joshua 2 rounds.

Why would people be longing for Klitschko when they will have Joshua?iamasadlittleboy wrote:And by November 2018 we'll have people longing for the days of Klitschko, some one who ruled the roost and was a clear #1 taking on the top challengers regularly and being the centre point of the division...BAD INTENTIONS wrote:Now that Klitschko seems to be out of the picture, the belts want to separate to maximize money

We'll have 4 heavyweight champions by June 2016.
Re: Fury stripped of IBF heavyweight title
This doesn't happen if Duva doesn't put a skirt on Glazkov and run away from Wilder.
All she or he has to say is they are willing to wait for the rematch.

If not this belt it will be one of Fury's other belts that I am sure will be stripped alsoNaandrew wrote:Anthony Joshua gets a shot at this belt by the end of 2016 you watch.
I'll come back to this thread when it happens.

What was Fury's camp supposed to do? Duva's people knew that if Fury won, there was a rematch clause. They were always going to duck Fury and take a vacant title fight.Tarkus wrote:I think we all agree there. However I wonder if Fury did enough to retain the belt. All I am hearing is that they wanted IBF to postpone the defense after Klitschko fight, somewhere next autumn. Thats not going to happen. I dont see them attempting to slot it before the rematch. They surely knew this would be the situation long time ago.sucracristo wrote:ibf comes off looks like garbage, here.

Take on Glazkov in February/March. Take on Klitschko in the Summer.zorndeslammes wrote:What was Fury's camp supposed to do? Duva's people knew that if Fury won, there was a rematch clause. Re: Fury stripped of IBF heavyweight title
They can't. Klitschko has a contract that demands an immediate rematch. Wlad isn't negotiating away a rematch for the heavyweight title. That would be idiotic.Tarkus wrote:Take on Glazkov in February/March. Take on Klitschko in the Summer.zorndeslammes wrote:What was Fury's camp supposed to do? Re: Fury stripped of IBF heavyweight title
Klitschko could have allowed Fury to defend against Glazkov. This way he is not loosing one of the belts.zorndeslammes wrote:They can't. Klitschko has a contract that demands an immediate rematch. If Fury loses to Glazkov, Klitschko fights Fury then for none of the belts and less money. Don't be dense.Tarkus wrote:Klitschko could have allowed Fury to defend against Glazkov. Re: Fury stripped of IBF heavyweight title
Be angry if you want. It's obvious to the rest of us. It was obvious the day Kathy Duva refused to negotiate with Fury what they wanted. I hope Martin sends Glazkov to hell.
Re: Fury stripped of IBF heavyweight title
Only thing thats obvious is that its much easier to moan like a bitch then to actually think about what you are saying. "Oh I hope Martin knocks him out". Fcking moron.
Re: Fury stripped of IBF heavyweight title
HE WAS STRIPPED 10 DAYS AFTER HE WON THE FRIGGIN' BELT!!!!!!!!!!!!
None of this is on Fury and ALL of it is on the IBF and Duva.
Shake yourself if you think otherwise!

One of us is thinking and the other isn't. "Hey, that freelance work that you, your kids, and your kid's kid can retire off of? You should just delay that and put it at risk of ever happening for some random's moral approval."Tarkus wrote:Only thing thats obvious is that its much easier to moan like a bitch then to actually think about what you are saying. There is another idiot steps in with his bull sht bitching. I am only talking to people have shown an ability of rational thinking on this forum. I am not interested in your senseless drivel.

What else is there to do? Try to rationalize away the dreck in this sport from the powerless position of being a fan? I guess I could do that. I'm not sure that's any healthier.Tarkus wrote:No, I am thinking, you are bitching.zorndeslammes wrote:One of us is thinking and the other isn't. Re: Fury stripped of IBF heavyweight title
Why would Wlad let Fury fight Glazkov first?
Anything can happen in boxing and given Tyson is the same guy that got put on his arse by a cruiserweight,
why would Klitschko risk watching a good payday go up in smoke if Glazkov won?
Even if he fights a victorious Glazkov, that is one hell of a financial step down.
No, Wlad negotiated the fight with the immediate rematch clause.
Everyone involved, including Duva and the IBF, knew this.
And they are taking advantage thinking there is a pay-off in just having the belt.
But, just like everything else Duva has done lately, this too will backfire.
Like Kovalev, Glazkov (if he even gets past Martin) will find himself scratching around for name fights.
Because folks don't want to do business with someone that stabs them in the back every chance she gets.

Sadly, this makes Fury the shortest reigning IBF champion ever.koolkc107 wrote:HE WAS STRIPPED 10 DAYS AFTER HE WON THE FRIGGIN' BELT!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was thinking the same.jezzamundo wrote:Ridiculous, the winner may well be the worst titlist in heavyweight history. Also, Fury has his contracted rematch with Wlad, so it's not like he had much of a choice. I somehow doubt the IBF would have been this strict with Wlad.
Wladimir wouldn't have been stripped like this had he won & opted for a rematch because the fight was close or similar.

The IBF stripped Dariusz Michalczewski almost immediately after he won it (within something like 24 hours) because he wouldn't agree to fight William Guthrie within 36 days.SteveO wrote:Sadly, this makes Fury the shortest reigning IBF champion ever.koolkc107 wrote:HE WAS STRIPPED 10 DAYS AFTER HE WON THE FRIGGIN' BELT!!!!!!!!!!!!
Re: Fury stripped of IBF heavyweight title
Wonder if Fury's politically incorrect diatribes have anything to do with this? Fury's rants have insulted very group under The Sun. I don't care what he says myself, even though I've pointed out a lot of it is stupid.
Reminds me of Leon Spinks being stripped of his title for giving Ali an immediate rematch. Spinks wasn't smart enough to rant, but Leon was getting busted with coke and pot every other day, so that may have had something to do with that.
Any thoughts...

Re: Fury stripped of IBF heavyweight title
Lol the IBF is a joke and are just plain stupid.
They would rather have some shitty champion like Martin or Glazkov than have Fury/Klitschko as the champion who actually are in big money fights and bring exposure to the belt.
I hope Fury dumps this belt in the trashcan like he promised.

Let's make this short and sweet, shall we?
-The two camps have 30 days to work out a deal post title win for a mandatory defense. Kathy Duva rejected it. If you want to justify it from her perspective: if Klitschko wins the belts back, maybe they have a rubber match and Glazkov sits some more (though he'd be paid for doing it both times). Plus Glazkov is lousy enough to lose to almost anyone he'll get licensed to fight. Of course she wants the title shot now.
-IBF states that the two teams didn't announce beforehand an immediate rematch clause. Some will point to this being underhanded. Those people are morons. Why? Because immediately following, it states that if such was disclosed to the IBF, they would be forced to not recognize the title fight. To put it bluntly: They would strip Wladimir Klitschko of the IBF title for fighting Tyson Fury over a rematch clause. There's no reason on earth then to disclose that info.
Since Kathy and Nicole Duva are a primary source of info in the sport and love to feed/caress the journos though, they'll spin this so hard. So hard.
