Looking at the amount of shows that get announced the cancelled the MBC seems to be shrinking pretty fast !
Vaughn / Liverpool
Murtagh / Leeds
Allan / Glasgow
Hucker , Scriven /Nottingham
Tolan , Quinn / Belfast
Apart from these promotors I can't see MBC putting on more than 15 shows in 2016 .

Scriven is unlikely to put any on currently i think.

Theres also Roger Brotherhood in Mansfield
Dave Murphy operates in wales and London
Mark Lyons in London
Another one in Belfast whos surname escapes me, Terry something...
A promoter in Sheffield who will do his first show in early 2016

Will certainly be more than 15 shows i assure you of that, but i imagine its not currently the growth of numbers that was hoped for

Nothing about show being cancelled has been mentioned by mr di caro yet as far as I am aware so maybe we are jumping the gun here lads ?

i see there big show at the york hall which had three world title fights, has been pulled. Wonder why this one has gone, they were saying they had it live on Sky and was going to be streamed world wide .... now its cancelled as i see tasif khans wbu fight has been moved to Feburaury, is that not the 3rd time its been moved?
Quite often the shows have been cancelled due to outside interference... ill not say more than that currently as i dont know the full details and therefore may jeopardise evidence gathered... although thats not always the case obviously, and in fairness cancellations arent exclusively an MBC problem... i know of more BBBofC shows cancelled just in the local area over the past year than there has been in the entire MBC, i guess its inevitable due to the differing number of events scheduled when comparing the 2 organisations, but im not reading anyone criticising the BBBofC for the same thing

Apart from these promotors I can't see MBC putting on more than 15 shows in 2016 .
You can add :
Dave Murphy / London & Portsmouth
Mark Lyons / London
to that list...
Dave Murphys most notibly the big one cancelled in Portsmouth with Jeff Lacey then Hearns then Aaron Pryor Jnr matched with Toney Oakey.
And Mark Lyons the big show cancelled on the 6th at York hall .
Tasif khan has had the same opponent for a world title on 4 shows but has yet to face him.
Marianne Marsden has had 4 different opponents in her cancelled unification of 4 world titles but There's no mention of a rescheduled date.

There was mention that bbbofc have shows cancelled which is true. But when you use it as a percentage of the shows put on in a year its very low in comparison to MBC.

See i dont understand the logic of that..

You are boxing fans but you hope a professional boxing body, who is giving people the chance to box professionally ceases to exist.... some fans you are...

No one is forcing you to watch, so if you dont like whats on offer then fair enough, but dont pretend theres not also countless bbbofc shows you also have no interest in, are you hoping they also cease to exist.... :witzend:

Being a professional boxer isn't like being a competition winner - 'giving people the chance to box professionally' etc
I think it is perfectly possible to be a boxing fan and not be onboard with the MBC.
I don't think the frequent cancellation of shows is really anything to do with the governing body, be it BBBoC or MBC or anyone else, it is down to promoters and to some extent the boxers. It perhaps APPEARS that the MBC is more culpable simply because the way it is run and promoted tends to give the impression that its an all for one and one for all type affair.

1) I have no support for a governing body that ignores suspensions.
2) I have no support for a governing body that ignores doctors who declare a boxer unfit to box.
3) A promoter refereeing a fight that his fighter is in isn't acceptable or morally correct.
4) I don't want to watch 4 professional fights then a load of unlicensed fights.

If & when this so called "commission shows that it has some sort of professionalism & isn't a cowboy outfit run by a charlatan then I might support it. Until then that day I will not watch 1 single fight.

Have a look at this fella
http://boxrec.com/boxer/714066
boxes on MBC shows and boxed on one this weekend just gone He's guarenteed to get
KO'd or TKO'd and boxed on a MBC show whilst on a 28 day suspension. It's an accident waiting to happen and hes scheduled to fight on another MBC show in feb in Bradford... That's just an example - I could go on.
If MBC we're really about safety & integrity and went about proving themselves under the radar instead of forcing themselves on us I think we'd all see them as a breath of fresh air.
just look back at their posts on here & facebook in their short history and see what they've proposed against what they've delivered.
I commend you as a promoter for trying to do sonething in professional boxing but I urge you to do whats good for boxing and not just whats good for MBC.
If/when something does go horribly wrong, everyone in professional boxing gets tarred with the same brush and boxing gets put back on the shadows... AND NOBODY WANTS TO SEE THAT.

2-7-1 i have seen a hell of a lot of records worse than that, and 1 of them wins was against a 4-1-1 lad not some local beer bandit in the gym.

The thing is as has been said already... nobody disagrees with most that, including those within MBC... but to answer your points.. and remember these are just my own opinion....

1) I dont for a second believe the suspension was ignored, it just slipped through the net... thats still unacceptable regardless, but id like to think that it wont (and it shouldnt ) be a regular occurrence, because its designed to help keep things safe, and safety has to come first above everything else ( Im aware it did almost happen again, a lad was scheduled but the show got cancelled, hopefully it would have been picked up, it was posted on here, so it was seen, and in my opinion it wouldnt have actually happened). For me personally, when looking to book an opponent id be looking to see if they were suspended to ensure time isnt wasted on someone who cant box, im sure most promoters would think the same way... so its a string of mistakes when that happens not just one person. Its not something ill defend whatsoever though, it takes effort from those involved at all points within the organisation. Ive even took it upon myself to check records etc the day before any MBC show lately, as it benefits me too if these things are cut out, for obvious reasons.

2) When have Doctors declared someone medically unfit to box and then still been allowed ? im assuming you refer to the likes of Weaver etc.... and that is the differing opinion of doctors not the commision, if MBC's specialist said no then it wouldnt be allowed, they wont just gloss it over... eventually that will happen with someone and while i dont wish it on anyone of course, i know at some point there will be a medical refusal via MRI etc..... until that time i dont think its fair for me to even attempt to comment further, im no dr and cant go into detail about things i dont fully understand.

3) As ive previously stated, i dont believe a promoter should ref full stop on any other pro show, not just on their own shows. Too many potential issues.

4) Thats just your opinion... people attend countless unlicensed shows up and down the country and enjoy them as much or sometimes more than pro shows... I understand the reason they are there... which encourages some of the promoters from the unlicensed background to turn pro, gives those unlicensed lads a target to aim for to get on the main card, and also it helps cover costs, which lets face it.. theres countless small hall promoters who struggle to make ends meet on a show... why would you pay a 10 grand bond and then lose money on every show, as can be the case on small hall shows.
My intention is to completely separate the 2 as different shows eventually by booking 2 days at venues and then people can choose which to watch, but to do that i need to build a couple of lads up for a bit first... i cant stick a pro show together made up of entirely debutant boxers give me time and youll see my plans come to fruition, ive got a signing coming up who will be the real deal, just watch this space..

5) the guiness book of records attempt.... no matter what your view you cant just say someone shouldnt box simply because of their age... you cant do that in any way of life unless it genuinely means they cant do the job, which steve can..... the license criteria is more stringent when a boxer hits 40 apparantly (ive not had to deal with it myself to know yet) The promoter isnt selling the show as a pro show, he doesnt see it that way at all, its just one fight to give steve the chance to get his name in the record books... nothing more... and is less of a circus than the flintoff debacle.

You dont want to watch MBC shows... fine youve said already... no need to keep repeating it then guys.. you just add to the attention towards MBC instead lol

I don't necessarily disagree, however what age is your cut off point and why?

Would the requirement be better based on a medical rather than an age.

At least when the BBBofC sanction a Benn/Eubank fight it will stop these kind of posts!

If you read my post Damian I said I dont want to watch a 57 yo box. My preference. In pretty much the same way I don't really want to pay to watch anyone play any sport at 57 year old.

Sorry i didnt realise you was talking to me...

Dont take this the wrong way, but i wouldnt just take the word of someone who i dont really know...
I would need to see the lads sparring at the very least, and then it would be also useful to know if they are looking for MBC bouts or unlicensed.
I can always use more lads but although some people will take any tom, dick or harry at face value, ive learned from past mistakes to avoid doing so.

If i remember rightly your only south yorkshire, so not too far for a trip up to have a look at some point.

I was one of the home boxers on the show. Prior to turning pro I've always fought the best I could in amateur and semi pro. Even jumping weight classes at times to do so. I understand his is different, I need to treat it more as a business and get experience with different styles and getting the rounds under my belt.

No different to how any other prospect would do it

If it's who I have in mind I'm very disappointed to hear he is going MBC. I've literally just had a conversation which lead me to believe he was getting a BBBoC license.
Also, I didn't think he had ever boxed amateur.

No, I meant the other Lee. No worries Damien, but he's probably in the top 5 ams in England in his weight. Very, very good.
