Artur Szpilka has been down multipul times by a guy who dosent hit hard and stopped by a feather fisted jennings, no way hes lasting more than 5 rounds.

At least we've heard of this opponent which makes a nice change for Wilder.

Especially on late notice, he was outclassed by Jennings but he is shifty and hard to land clean on. He had the corpse of Adamek befuddled for 12 rounds.
Wilder will be falling over his feet all night. He's bigger with more power than Jennings but much less technically skilled so this isn't a foregone conclusion. I'll actually watch this one rather than read the result online then look on Youtube for high(low)lights.

Good fight. Probably Wilders second best opponent to date.

Personally I can see Wilder winning by mid-late KO. Hopefully his win will be credited and can hopefully start enforcing his legacy a bit more favourable.

It's only a slight step up in opposition and far from TOP 10 material but it's a step in the right direction.

And this is the guy who's going to toy with Artur Szpilka?
Wilder is far from perfect, and have yet to hear anyone say he is. He is a work in progress, still learning. In the meantime though, I hope guys like you give credit to him if he does "upset" Szpilka. Or, will Szpilka become another tomato can? Remember both Molina and Duhapas were ranked in the top 15 for WBC when Wilder fought them too. They didn't pull them out of a cab somewhere. I'll give credit to the winner, whoever it is.

Why ruin a bad post with bullshit?

The upset would be for Szpilka to defeat Wilder not vice versa but some posters here have been trying to make it sound as if it's somehow a guaranteed that Deontay will win which is far from the truth. Beating Szpilka would be a very good win for Deontay there's no question about that. Molina and Duhapas were tomato cans regardless of how the WBC ranked them.
The "upset" comment was sarcastic, but not surprising you didn't catch that. I just hope we see the best Szpilka, and not the one suffering from jet lag like you eluded to before the Jennings fight. I also hope he shows that he is something special, with tremendous speed and technique, like you also mentioned. He just may be better than most think, but your ripping on how poor Wilder is won't make Szpilka look very good after it is over....and is very likely going to make Wilder look better. Btw, he isn't scared shitless of Povetkin. You will find that out soon as well.

The funny thing about this fight is that Szpilka is probably the 2nd best opponent that Wilder has faced in his career after Stiverne. That says a lot about Wilder's "champion" status.

Man, I get sick of defending Wilder but some of the comments are irritating. Yes, Wilder has been brought along slowly since he only had about 20 some amateur fights. Yes he has faced multiple tomato cans.
I can think of a few guys that most credited as a good step up fight turn into a tomato can. He broke his hand vs Stiverne, and instead of sitting out for 6 months like most, he was back in 2 against a ranked guy to test it. Povetkin requested a tune up to fight with Wach, knowing it may jeopardize the January fight with Wilder. Povetkin said before that he wouldn't take a fight in between. Wilder fought another voluntary, again against a ranked guy. He doesn't make the rankings.
Now he faces more criticism because a guy backed out and he has to settle for the #8 ranked guy?
Yes, he is an outspoken guy, but let's just see if he can walk the walk, then judge him.

Is Wider setting up a rematch with Stiverne.
Has him on the same card a rematch might be appealing.

Wilder wanted to fight Povetkin on 1/16, but since he isn't ready to fight, he will fight Szpilka. Assuming he wins, he will fight Povetkin next, since Wlad and Fury are fighting. If he beats Povetkin, I would guess he will take on the winner later in 2016.

Wilder acts like he wants to fight good boxers, but he allways says it if he knows that boxer isn't availeble and once someone is availeble again he's busy doing something else.
He recently challenged both Klitschko as Fury, knowing they had to fight each other, then AJ, knowing he wasn't planning Wilder any time soon and so his talks go on and on, Shannon Briggs same story. And lowballing everybody ofcourse.

Fury turned Wilder down last year or the year before, for the record, and was smart.
