Canelo Vs GGG September 2016 @159lb [SPECULATION]

Tommorow we have confirmation that K2 Promotions and Golden Boy promotions will come to an agreement regarding to this fight. I have a feeling that they will allow (K2) Canelo to make a voluntary defense in May to test the waters at maybe 156-157 and agree that both of them will fight in september 2016 in a catchweight of 158-159 or probably even 160.

Golovkin in the meantime will have free dates to fight in europe in February, then try to unify with Andy Lee in May. That for me would be a better plan as it sets up an even bigger superfight than it would have been in may for the UNDISPUTED middleweight championship of the world and obviously in a weight that suits Golovkin more.

If this fight happens immedietly in May 2016 (which as a fan of GGG I want to) BUT it would be at a catchweight of MAX 156.. Golovkin will have to drain himself to make that weight at that age which is the only thing that worries me.. It would also ruin the activity that Golovkin is building over the past 3 years as he would not be able to fight in February.

So as a fan of the sport and a fan of Golovkin it would be better for this fight to happen in September 2016 (Although its very hard to wait so much time) for the fight to become bigger , keeping Golovkin active as he always was and with a much more fair weight distribution.

I understand the marketing of a big fight and how important are the factors of time and patience figure into it. But there's also a TON of risks when you consider waiting this long to make a fight happen and way more so when you figure into the mix a boxer that fights 3 times a year. I'm not worried about Canelo. Canelo can work in a stay busy fight with a no name and be fresh for September. But GGG's risk is double due to the extra fight he'll be taking on to Canelo's.

September is too long to wait. Too much can happen. A big fight is just like a high risk stock and factors and profits vary each day. If i'm Golden Boy and K2, I'm allowing these guys to have one tune up fight and then i'm getting this on in May. One fight is a perfect build up and the risk is minimized greatly.

I think they are making a big mistake if they pencil in September as the date and i think it hurts the chances of this fight ever happening. Floyd is gone now so Cinco De Mayo is now free for the first time and Vegas needs to fill it with something big. Not optimistic that we are ever going to see this fight right now.

That only happens if Lee gets past Saunders which is no easy fight what so ever! agree that they will step aside to take the Canelo fight late in 2016. In the mean time may get Golovkin take his mandatory early then maybe Lee isf he wins next week or another stay bust fight before the big one.

Who said Andy Lee will beat Billy Joe Saunders? BJS will probably win and run away to Haymon to protect that belt just like DeGale and Selby.

obviously GGG gets paid to step aside again, but i don't see anyone in the GB stable
that would interest GGG in the meantime. the winner of the lee-saunders match would
interest GGG, and the paycheck that would come from being co-main event on the
canelo may 7th saturday card. GGG would step aside for that if canelo dropped the
catch weight talk and signed an iron clad agreement to fight in september where
GGG gets paid if canelo chickens out.

it's another $2mil, another title, and it helps promote the september matchup, something that
happens in boxing all the time to set up big fights like this. we aren't talking haymon and top
rank, here. it's GB and k2. the trick would be involving a 3rd promoter of the lee-saunders winner.

Ofc Lee can win a decision, never ruled that out I just said my prediction.

Co-Main event = Undercard.. Its the same bro, Golovkin will never fight in the co main event of a Canelo fight TRUST me. He will headline his events up until the mega fight. (I might also be wrong who knows.. its boxing we talking about)
