Liam Williams vs Kris Carslaw
Liam Williams vs Kris Carslaw
Who will be the winner? Liam Williams is the underdog and I don't understand why. He's actually promoted by allegedly. Has he had any injury or lawsuit with the promoter?
Re: Liam Williams vs Kris Carslaw
Probably last chance for Kris here so I'm sure he'll leave everything in the ring. I've heard he is looking really good in sparring. Has been sparring Sam Ball I think. Also heard Williams is looking sharp too so this could end up a good little scrap. Carslaw can be quite awkward so it might take Williams a few rounds to find his range especially after such a long lay off. It'll go to the cards and it really could go either way IMO. Close call but if I had to bet I would need to go with Williams as he is an allegedly fighter and will probably get the benefit of the doubt in any close/scrappy rounds.
Re: Liam Williams vs Kris Carslaw
Williams is 1/9 Favourite (best price in the betting) and you can get 6/1 Carslaw.
This looks a much closer fight to me on paper, not seen enough of Williams to have a strong view but Carslaw is tough and if he gets into a fight and feels he is in with a chance he is one tough man. Would have thought this would have been quite a close betting heat but some people tell me that Wililams is different class, will have to have another look and see what it is everyone seems to be seeing.

6/1 Carslaw is worth a punt. Can't see this fight being anything other than a close points decision either way. I'd be surprised if there was a stoppage unless it's from cuts. Kris has had a couple of nasty ones in the past.GlobalBox wrote:Williams is 1/9 Favourite (best price in the betting) and you can get 6/1 Carslaw.

Re: Liam Williams vs Kris Carslaw
saw kris at gym this morning , hes in tremendous shape (as you would expect )
if he fights with same intensity that he did with John Thain fight and doesn't waste rounds like he has in past then hes in with a great shout.
hes been in @ higher level than Williams and his chin toughness is proven.
that and Williams lack of activity since being injured then I think carslaw defo worth a punt on a points decision.

Williams is in a very good gym and though he's been inactive hell have been sparring Nick Blackwell etc. Gary Lockett is a good tactician and Williams will be in good shape. I think Liam's jab will be the key, it is sharp and heavy. I think Williams will win, probably on points.

Im gonna be cheering for my fellow countryman Carslaw but ive gotta say Williams is a real talent and probably my fav domestic fighter at the moment,he's been inactive since blowing away Lomax in a round to win the Commonwealth,he's had surgery i think so hopefully there's a bit of rust and Kris can take advantage,Carslaw is a tough customer, been the distance with Soro and i thought the British title fight against Rose was closer than the judges gave him credit for
Vacant British title on line too,i think this has got distance all over it and my head says Liam too classy for Carslaw

Really hope Williams hand gets through. I can honestly see Williams clearing up at domestic level in the next year if his hand is OK.
Hope they don't rush him into a Smith fight.
Smith is vulnerable at world level so I expect his defences to be against Patterson, Corcoran and Williams.

Frank likes to keep hie defences in house example Terry versus Derry.Black Sam Bellamy wrote:Patterson, Corcoran and Williams ? Don't see that at all.
He's already done it with Smith. Unless he gets a mandatory his in house fighters at the weight are Patterson, Williams and Corcaran so I expect his next defence against one of the above.

that jab

Heard he can't remember anything after the first round so the damage was obviously already done with that combo. Impressed with Williams.Marlo Stanfield wrote:that jab

The one that springs to mind was Watson knocking Benn out with a jab.palooka wrote:ILoveHowardFoster wrote:And I was laughed at for saying Williams inside 4I apologise, I was making a little joke because of your name, the real Howard foster had been on another thread that day and told someone to sit down and shut up - I'd hoped you'd get the joke but we'll done with your prediction - Williams is some fighter, you don't see jab knockouts often at all.

good call and it was over 25 years ago, they are pretty rare.
He just about proved is wrong on that one
Top level KOS with jabs are proper rare. My minds gone blank for any others.
Kovalev had one against Mohameddi but I wouldn't call him top drawer and he was looking for a way out.
Re: Liam Williams vs Kris Carslaw
Billy Schwer got someone out with a jab on the way up but he was leagues above the fella.
Re: Liam Williams vs Kris Carslaw
not strictly true, benn was exhausted and just needed pushing over which is what watsons jab didPredatorHayds wrote:The one that springs to mind was Watson knocking Benn out with a jab.palooka wrote:ILoveHowardFoster wrote:And I was laughed at for saying Williams inside 4I apologise, I was making a little joke because of your name, the real Howard foster had been on another thread that day and told someone to sit down and shut up - I'd hoped you'd get the joke but we'll done with your prediction - Williams is some fighter, you don't see jab knockouts often at all.
