Joshua will be fighting for the IBF soon against some bum. Most likey Teper once he beats Glazkov.
PS: By Eddie I mean the guy from my local pub and by Frankie I mean the local milk man. Just to be clear

On this website we all know, for example , that the world heavyweight champion is now Tyson Fury. Wilder is a potential challenger only. The middleweight champion is Golovkin, Alvarez is only a potential challenger etc etc.
Brook is only a contender, a good one , granted, but a contender nevertheless.
honestly if he fights Chaves after Bizier it's a joke. A real big fight or he's taking the piss IMOBatley18 wrote:Kevin Bizier is a better fighter than Jo Jo Dan, and was robbed in their second fight imo, but he is nowhere near good enough to even test Brook. It is a tricky situation for Kell, he wants to keep that belt, but injuries have plagued him since becoming champ. His next fight after Bizier has got to be a big one, unification or someone like Khan or Garcia, or perhaps try again for Chaves.
I agree, but at this stage I would take it above his other three defences. I laugh at people who compare Brook and Khan and then criticise Khan for his opponents. I would much prefer to see him in with better, but at least they are former World Champions.Marlo Stanfield wrote:honestly if he fights Chaves after Bizier it's a joke. My 40 year old Six Million Dollar Man doll is a better fighter than No No Dan!Batley18 wrote:Kevin Bizier is a better fighter than Jo Jo Dan, and was robbed in their second fight imo, but he is nowhere near good enough to even test Brook. I feel sorry for Brook, because these types of opponents are doing him no favours whatsoever.
That's a good point, TJ and the fact is that powerful promoters have some say over how more desirable opponents get highly ranked and more dangerous men dropped down a notch or 2.TJ77 wrote:Relinquish the belt .......Khan would of course still fight him then. You fight who they tell ya or you get stripped simple.
If Tyson was tied too Eddie from the pub, no way would he have been stripped of his IBF title.Exoddus wrote:Fury getting stripped, Brook getting terrible mandatories. The IBF will do exactly what Eddie tells them to do. The same with Frankie and the WBO.

Then he's not a PPV fighter, big name fighters have no problem getting good competition.Parson Cross wrote:The IBF since getting raided by the FBI is a stickler with the rules.
You only need to ask Jamie McDonnell about that.
As for Eddie telling them what to do - they didnt fuckin listen then did they Exoddus ?
All about the sanction fees.
What are Brook's alternatives ?
Hand it back and start again ?
Always think a fighter with a title is easier to Manage / Promote than one without.
It's very easy to blame a fighter but fighter's don't arrange fights.
If your Promoter won't put the $ up the fights won't happen.
I'm a disgruntled fan as well but if you cant get the likes of Bizier to come over here to take on Brook - you aint gonna get the big boys.
totally agree at this stage in his careerpalooka wrote:Then he's not a PPV fighter, big name fighters have no problem getting good competition.Parson Cross wrote:The IBF since getting raided by the FBI is a stickler with the rules.

Johnny Nelson and Ricky Burns both worse imo but I agree it's very poor.ALI wrote:Is Brooks first 3 defences of a world title setting an all time record low for British world champions quality of oponents in the first defences of their title. Mandatories or not, i honestly cant remember such a poor run. Dan, Gavin and now set to fight Bizier who lost twice to Dan, thats horrible, none deserve to be anywhere near a world title. For a man with such skill who talks the game up so well to be in a division so deep with talent, he should be ashamed.
Is he setting an all time record low for first defences?
The Cook fight would have been ok had he not done his back in, but still agree, not great first defenses. To Burns credit however, he has never backed away from a fight, win lose or draw he has some decent names on his record.Cholo_cws wrote:Johnny Nelson and Ricky Burns both worse imo but I agree it's very poor.ALI wrote:Is Brooks first 3 defences of a world title setting an all time record low for British world champions quality of oponents in the first defences of their title. Cook had been beaten in four by Martinez and then inactive save for a token six rounder just before the fight with Burns. Burns fought much better opponents after that. I agree that Burns was prepared to fight the best - he used to seem to genuinely crave the opportunity to fight for The Ring belt.ALI wrote:The Cook fight would have been ok had he not done his back in, but still agree, not great first defenses. Brooks record is an embaressment - its Porter with 34 other names that mean jack sh*t. I like Brook, but for all the talk he does, no matter how you try to look at it, he is just not backing it up.

he surely has another voluntary defence in the bank before taking another mandatory?
Parsons doesn't just say things like that to troll, so it must be close to being done.Syntax Error wrote:What makes you think that?Parson Cross wrote:The Khan fight will happen.

Khan can't be bothered to fight Brook in 2015, yet somehow, after doing very little this year, he's suddenly going to want the fight in 2016?
I know one of Khan's excuses for swerving Brook was that Kell's not a big enough name, but that's going to be no different in 2016 judging by the corpses that are being dug up for Kell to feast on at the moment.
Brook is more likely to rematch No No Dan than share a ring with Khan in '16.
He's been a pro over eleven years and fought one legit world class opponent.bigB wrote:Not sure how he is a Cherry Picker...
August 2014 - Won Title
September 2014 - Injured from stabbing in Tenerife
March 2015 - After recovering from injury fights his mandatory - JoJo Dan
May 2015 - Gets in a payday voluntary in Frankie Gavin (Payday)
October 2015 - Pulls out of a voluntary fight with Diego Chaves due to rib injury.
2016 - Mandatory Kevin Bizier
2016 - Amir Khan?
I agree the IBF mandate guys that are not world level fighters as they are snubbed by the bigger names in the division. The Chaves fight for me was a decent scrap which Kell would have won. Unless he vacates he has to fight these guys the IBF put in front of him. As Matchroom has stated this will more than likely be in the USA or Canada as it does not sell as well in the UK.
