Joshua Whyte, worthy of PPV?

Slightly OT, but did anyone else receive an email from Sky asking if you could fill in an online survey about viewing habits?

I don't usually do stuff like that but was hoping there'd be a question about boxing/PPVs so I could give them some constructive feedback - instead, pretty much all the questions were about the Premier League (e.g. How much Premier League do you watch / Would you miss the Premier League if it was no longer available / How likely would you be to cancel Sky if the Premier League was no longer part of the package).

The seemingly obvious conclusion (to my mind, anyway) is that Sky are shitting it about the obscene amount of money they've just forked out for the Premier League rights & are wondering if it's a viable business plan going forward.

None of that has anything directly to do with boxing obviously, but could be signs that TV boxing funding from Sky could change quite dramatically in a few years time. They may even consider adding a second promoter to whatever's left of their sports network...

Great PPV

Imagine Sky trying to tell football fans that a tournament consisting of Norwich vs Albion Rovers; Aston Villa vs Droylsden and Everton vs Stevenage was "unmissable" they would get slaughtered, but they cant serve up utter non contests like that where even the ridiculously short priced favorites are just run of the mill fighters and expect folk to swallow it. Utter joke.

Exactly. Zero 50/50s and no world title fights. It's actually an average Saturday fight night. Hearn thinks that just having names on the card makes it worthwhile. It's boring.

Hopefully it's like the Fury/Klitschko one where it had a countdown to encryption, but include a couple of fights free-to-air, similar to AJ v Matt Legg on the Froch/Groves 2 card.

must admit i was starting to get tempted while reading the boxing news previews today but im going to stay strong and just watch the russian card instead, it''s all too easy to order it but i wouldnt fancy seeing my bill at the end of the month with fury and then this added to it.

The Russians bills lately have been good. Anything like the last one & wont be anywhere near as one sided as the PPV bill.

I don't have sky, so can't get it anyway.... I'll probably go fishing..... this PPV will only be one that's worthwhile getting retrospectively..ie if Joshua gets chinned.... I remember I refused to get the Khan Prescott fight even though at the time I was doing well in business and had money. I watched it on a rubbish stream, but afterwards wished I had bought it for the Lolz.

I hope Whyte does it as I love an under dog and would love to see camp Eddie's face as his meal ticket gets done.

Well the 'big' day has arrived!!
I won't be paying any extra for this rubbish. I'm not even interested in any of the results, although I hope Joshua or the other guy knock either out in about 60 seconds. SKY can then show the highlights every night over Christmas.
I still haven't found an answer to why SKY don't charge PPV for the cup final, or the final round of the Masters.
As long as people pay the extra in sufficient numbers they'll continue to rob us blind. The Chief Executives at SKY and Matchroom are laughing at us behind our backs.
We don't seem to get final figures for these events but my gut tells me the PPV figures for this might be the lowest ever.

I do expect this PPV to do extremely poorly. The Mitchell fight does look decent & intriguing, but the others are all set to be very one-sided affairs.

I certainly won't be buying, will be at a football match between 3pm-5pm, should get home just in time to watch Man Utd v Bournemouth, then catch-up on the Russian card which I'll be recording. More than enough sport on today without forking out an extra 17 quid. More gutted that I don't have BT Sport for the UFC tonight tbh

Shocking ppv card. Wont be buying. Not for the seventeen pound just for the fact their trying to mug boxing fans off. Cant see it doing well. Due to the fact no casuals will even know any boxer on the away side. Thought this would have ended with bellew v cleverly. Dont mind guys getting ppv that have fought there way to the very top but none of the guys on show near that level. Mitchell, bellew, mallinaggi etc nearly men. Joshua eubanks junior and campbell just very good prospects at this stage. Even though although i bought it the fury v klitchko was a bit of a scandal. No real undercard to talk of. And neither fighter known to be in entertaining fights. I think it should just be reserved for real entertaining fighters that are at the very top. To me brook for example might be near the top but not entertaining enough for ppv. Unless its with khan or that. To be fair to khan hes been in some entertaining fights. It should be the price you pay for spoiling tactics no ppv eg mayweather/klitchko/hopkins As good as they are they tend to take the entertainment out of fights.

Talk about a great nite of boxing but shouldnt we be getting that anyway for our subscription. Them fighters should all be on a saturday nite maybe two of the fights...without stacking a card to make it ppv

The biggest problem I have is the main event. Dillian Whyte apparently has a shoulder injury. So he's going into the fight with his excuse for losing already made. Like Floyd vs Manny was a disgrace with Manny going in injured. Dillian Whyte is doing the same thing.

He mentioned it in his interview on Sky Sports after his last win but that was a couple of months ago.

I've noticed no-one on Facebook is talking about this PPV. Fury vs. Wlad it was everywhere because it was a big event, this has either passed the casuals by or they're avoiding it after the snoozefest that was Fury vs. Klitschko.

At half time at the Bournemouth game they mentioned the big fight on Sky Box Office with the 'highly impressive undercard' . Is that not an offence under the Trade Description Act ?
