i mean with a litle bit of boxing sense anybody should see all the advantages right away.
bigga, taller, heavier puncher, technicly more sound. jennings absolutly no chance. its a good fight, dont get me wrong, jennings is okay, but ortiz totaly destroys him. also judging from his neck, ortiz can take a heavy punch
Re: Ortiz will hurt Jennings badly
Since there is random testing for the fight, I'll take Jennings via decision.

Probably not. Jennings is the best fighter Ortiz has ever faced, so he will probably be the least hurt of any of Ortiz's opponents.

Ortiz is without a doubt probably the most skilled HW in boxing at the moment but Jennings isn't too bad himself and definitely isn't a pushover. I'm leaning towards Ortiz, he has the better pedigree and punching power.

Okay...
And exactly what do you base your conviction on?
Especially given the fact that Jennings has faced the much more significant opposition & his lone loss was via a points loss to a long time reigning champion in a fairly competitive contest. So, I fail to see your rationale in expecting his bout with the Cuban to be a mismatch in which Ortiz will take a beating en route to getting KO'd.
That's not to say that such a result isn't possible, because Ortiz is, in fact, a very large, powerful heavyweight with skills & gads of world class amateur experience to fall back on. But, thus far in his career he hasn't had to rise to the occasion against an actual contender. I'm sorry, but blowing out the likes of an ancient, shot Monte Barrett & a never was like Vidondo means nothing.
You may think/hope that he walks through Jennings like you want him to, but we'll just have to wait until Saturday night to see what happens.

Jennings is pretty solid defensively. I can see him taking Ortiz to deep waters and drowning him if he pushes a fast pace.

I expect Ortiz to get tired and the ring is the wrong place to get tired, so he will lose eventually.

Cuban heavyweights suck....so Jennings FTW!

Mayweather style or? Then Ortiz shouldn't have to worry about anything.Naandrew wrote:Badhusker wrote:Since there is random testing for the fight, I'll take Jennings via decision.

I haven't seen Ortiz fight yet, but can see from his boxrec record that he is a big guy, southpaw with good amatuer background, he his also 36 a little bit old, and has no where near the pro resume that Jennings has.
Jennings is the best American Heavyweight. His only weakness is he lacks 1 punch KO power. Just off the resumes alone I would give Jennings the nod is this fight, although I am sure this has the potential to be a competitive fight.

This fight to me has only one question, how long will Jennings last in there with Ortiz? Jennings is a really good boxer but he will get hit by Ortiz. I cant see it going past 6 rounds! Just my gut fealing

Re: Ortiz will hurt Jennings badly
Kudos to Jennings and Ortiz for making this fight. Ortiz punching power gives him a slight edge but I believe that Jennings is the more athletic and better trained.
Whoever wins this I will consider a top 5 heavyweight.

Re: Ortiz will hurt Jennings badly
Jennings can pack a Punch and has good defense so getting the KO won't be easy.
Ortiz could outwork him, but does he have the Stamina for 12 rounds? perez won 5 of the first 6 rounds against Jennings but then lost because he was totally gassed and lost every round.
does Ortiz have better Stamina?

Re: Ortiz will hurt Jennings badly
I just looked at their stats again and Jennings simply has had a lot better opponends. Also, the difference is only about 8 pounds. Somehow Ortiz seems to have at least 20 pounds more fat. In other words, Jennings had better opponends, he's stronger, he's in better shape, he got similar reach and on top of all that, he's also a smarter/better boxer.
Ortiz looks good because of his past few opponends, but I would be really really surprised if he wins this fight.

Ortiz is not tested at all. He hasn't had a fight in world class.
I have no problems picking Jennings for this.

While I strongly disagree on Ortiz skills at heavyweight, I'll echo your steadfastness and predict that Jennings will absolutely win perhaps unless Ortiz does.

:??
There is a firm possibility of a definite maybe, that one, or other of the combatants, could very likely win by decision, or perhaps KO :??tiny_acres wrote:punchoutsb wrote:Without a doubt probably, huh?Undefeated49-0 wrote:Ortiz is without a doubt probably the most skilled HW in boxing at the moment but Jennings isn't too bad himself and definitely isn't a pushover. Re: Ortiz will hurt Jennings badly
Jennings already declined the fight before due to not getting enough money, hes not a confident man, and all the talk about hes great v southpaws? did you watch the Perez fight? he struggled majorly v a limited boxer, ortiz has a big ametuer background of over 360 fights hes a skilled boxer. Jennings also goes into his shell when he gets caught and likes to run, if he dosen't get Ko'd by ortiz's first few big shots he'll cover up and run and lose on points.
