Eubank Jr Vs Jacobs
Eubank Jr Vs Jacobs
So with Eubank Jr winning at the weekend and becoming the #1 for Daniel Jacob's WBA Middleweight title, what does everybody think of this fight and who do you think will win?
Re: Eubank Jr Vs Jacobs
Eubank seems to have a pretty good chin, so I expect him to stop Jacobs.
Re: Eubank Jr Vs Jacobs
Jacobs on points, Eubank trys the same combinations over and over, I was amazed that Spike didn't defend against the uppercuts, his game plan was the most stupid I've seen in quite a while.
Re: Eubank Jr Vs Jacobs
Jacobs without a doubt, Eubank has no defence, no jab and footwork most amateurs would be embarrassed of.

Re: Eubank Jr Vs Jacobs
Jacobs doesn't like fast guys with offense. Eubank Jr. is a fast guy with offense. Solid chin and excellent stamina to boot. I take Eubank Jr. in this.
Re: Eubank Jr Vs Jacobs
Eubank will win by KO, no question.
Re: Eubank Jr Vs Jacobs
Watching both guys last fight's I would say Jacobs to much for Eubank as of now..........DJ BY 9th ROUND TKO

Eubank has a alot of potential.. Out of safety im picking Jacobs but I wouldnt be surprised if Eubank shows immense talent and KOs Jacobs..
Re: Eubank Jr Vs Jacobs
If I were a betting man, I would pick Jacobs over Eubank Jr. Possibly by KO. It kind of surprises me that Hearn will let this fight happen so soon.

Eubanks O is already gone so it is less of an issue than usual
But its not like Camp Eddie isn't known to send his boys into pretty tough tasks. He has his fighters, and he also has his mealtickets. He treats the mere fighters a little differently I think

Is it Danny's iron chin which makes you feel safeAaronide_ger wrote:Eubank has a alot of potential.. Out of safety im picking Jacobs but I wouldnt be surprised if Eubank shows immense talent and KOs Jacobs..
Re: Eubank Jr Vs Jacobs
As a fan of Eubank, I'm inclined to try to make a case for him as he is a very talented fighter
but I just see too many gaps in his defence and said the other day that if he keeps showboating and getting caught the way he does, the likes of Jacobs or Lee won't be as forgiving and will take him out
The only thing that sways me towards thinking Eubank might have a chance are that his weaknesses are all self inflicted ie he makes a conscious decision to act the goat and gets hit as a result. If he can stick to a game plan, fight smart and behave in the ring, he's got the tools to do the job.
He could do worse than listen to his new trainer Adam Booth, he's not the worst at devising a solid gameplan

Re: Eubank Jr Vs Jacobs
If Jacobs boxes he wins, if he brawls he loses.
If he does both it's a draw
If he does both it's a draw

No, Danny's chin is bad. But he is a capable fighter and more proven at thia point of timeikorolev wrote:Is it Danny's iron chin which makes you feel safeAaronide_ger wrote:Eubank has a alot of potential.. Re: Eubank Jr Vs Jacobs
I think it makes for an intriguing fight without doubt, and one that could be very explosive. I think Eubank Jr definitely has power, but Spike showed how great a chin he has. O'Sullivan is a gritty, determines fighter, so to see him get pulled out after 6 rounds because he was being systematically dismantled is a very impressive feat by Eubank.
At the moment I think this one could be a slug fest and would perhaps side slightly with Eubank to get a close decision victory.

Re: Eubank Jr Vs Jacobs
we are talking about the interim champion fighting the regular champion, neither of whichBatley18 wrote:becoming the #1 for Daniel Jacob's WBA Middleweight title
are the real wba champion, who is golovkin. please stop talking about these shit titles.
thank you
(it's a pick 'em fight but i go with jacobs for being a little sharper)
Re: Eubank Jr Vs Jacobs
Eubank no longer holds the Interim belt. I don't like the system as much as you, and make reference to it being Jacob's WBA belt as opposed to the WBA belt, but it exists so it is there for discussion.sucracristo wrote:we are talking about the interim champion fighting the regular champion, neither of whichBatley18 wrote:becoming the #1 for Daniel Jacob's WBA Middleweight title

Re: Eubank Jr Vs Jacobs
Great fight. A real 50/50.
If this fight happens it probably happens in Brooklyn.
I fancy Jacobs to win via decision but probably getting wobbled a few times along the way.
BJS showed that Eubank can be outboxed if your technically sound. Jacobs has good fundamentals and should win via decision if his chin holds up. I don't think Eubank has the one punch power to stop him.

Eubank has too many holes in his defence.
Re: Eubank Jr Vs Jacobs
If Eubank swings and misses like he did against spike then I would expect Jacobs to punish those kind of mistakes so I think a bit more seasoning is required for jnr.

If Jacobs is getting wobbled (which I expect to happen), then Eubank will finish him.PredatorHayds wrote:Great fight. A real 50/50.

I've got a feeling that if Eubank wobbles Jacobs he will go steaming in with his uppercut leads and get caught coming in.ikorolev wrote:If Jacobs is getting wobbled (which I expect to happen), then Eubank will finish him.PredatorHayds wrote:Great fight. A real 50/50.

Eubank hasn't been in with any big one punch hitters. I feel Jacobs would be the biggest hitter by far Eubanks been in with. Jury's out if Eubank could take his power but from what I've seen he looks to have a decent chin.
His fathers chin wasn't bad. (Sarcasm-Eubank sr had the best chin I've ever seen)
Re: Eubank Jr Vs Jacobs
Always good to see a split poll, 22 votes one way, 22 votes the other way and 1 as a draw. That is the way boxing should be.

Re: Eubank Jr Vs Jacobs
Eubank Jr doesn't have any power in my opinion and his KO record is very deceptive. I fancy Jacobs to stop him around the middle rounds in a back and forward battle.
Eubank is always entertaining and he comes to fight.

Re: Eubank Jr Vs Jacobs
Eubank Jr is overrated, his boxing ability is the giveaway and I'm not entirely sure his chin will hold up in the long run.
Bringing in Adam Booth was a good move he's a smart guy that one and he does have something to work with, but I get a strong feeling Eubank Jr thinks a lot higher of himself than he should do.
Pulling a couple of his fathers moves in the ring last time out didn't impress me at all, he should work on Jr not Sr.
The nostalgic feeling for the fans might be there every time he shows up with dad, but Jr should be working on building himself and tightening up his defence before taking us on a trip down memory lane.
