Plenty of main event fights aren't over 12 rounds. National title fights, certainly all Australian ones anyway, and many of which are main events, are over 10 rounds.

It makes little difference if it is 10 or 12 rounds. But I can't see why it should be 12. Unless of course some trinket title is going to suddenly get wheeled out to assist with ticket sales.

Mark de Mori :

"This could be my last fight in my career. All I want out of boxing now is to be able to look in the mirror and say, 'I gave it everything.' I needed that massive opportunity to come my way and finally it has. I mean, you can have records of 100-1, but if you haven't had big tests at the highest level, really nobody should care and that is what I have the opportunity to do here; prove to myself that I got pretty damn good at something I spent half of my life doing, I mean, I gave it everything,"

de Mori telling it like it is and explaining exactly why people shouldn't and haven't cared about him. Because, quite literally, he is that guy who for 15 years has been trying to assemble a 100-1 record fighting horrendously overmatched opponents.

I wonder how fit Haye will be on the day. Lucas Browne has just gone into 12 weeks intensive training for his next fight and this fight is only 5 weeks away.

There's not a chance we are going to see David Haye at his best here. It will be interesting to see what he weighs in at.

After reading the above, I can just imagine Mark jumping into ring with the strains of a well known ditty, ringing in the audience's ears:
Yes, there were times, I'm sure you knew
When I bit off more than I could chew.
But through it all, when there was doubt,
I ate it up and spit it out.
I faced it all and I stood tall;
And did it my way.

Haye @ $1.06 for the win and de Mori @ $7.50 on sportsbet, No market up yet for KO/rounds etc. Might have to use my free bet on this match up :TU: .

If Haye turn up fit and in form he should be more like $1.01.

After over 3 years out of the ring he would hardly be match fit.

I honestly hope Mark knocks him out. I just don't know how de Mori is going to catch Haye as he will run for 12 rnds. Fit or not he is not that easy to hit.

Hoping Haye thinking he'll walk all over Mark will lead him to be more aggressive and 'run' less.

It's no secret that for Mark to win he's going to have to 'bully' him and make it dirty. But agree if Haye is happy to go 12 and counterpunch all fight it's going to be tough night for Mark.

If he's willing to trade a bit anything can happen.

Haye is a smart fighter. If turns up with anything like his usual athleticism he will use it to frustrate Mark who will be flailing away at fresh air. Mark could hardly be less prepared for this having never fought anyone fit to carry Haye's spit bucket.

Although I think De Mori will not have much luck how many were using this as an excuse as to why Fury would beat Wlad???

Who has Fury fought??

If any sort of fightready David Haye turns up on January 16 he will soon be making hay and de Mori will be regretting taking all those easy fights he learnt virtually nothing from. The only way to improve your boxing is to test yourself out along the way and de Mori never has.

Fury's record is infinitely better than de Mori's.

A good portion of Fury's opponents are better than anyone de Mori has ever fought.

With Haye's money & legal problems I wonder if he is making the comeback to pay his debts?

de Mori has fought an endless production line of lowly raked opponents, many of whom had little to no experience or were so far over the hill it was just embarrassing.

How many opponents of the calibre of Hammer, Chisora, Cunningham, Johnson, Rogan, Pajkic etc, etc, has de Mori fought?

Fury's record might not to earth shaking. But it is light years ahead of de Mori's :OhYes:

Mark de Mori :

“I have targeted the shoulder before when I couldn’t hit them cleanly,”

“Because boxers don’t move when you target their shoulder, you can use maximum force and try and dislocate the shoulder joint,”

http://www.aus-boxing.com/2015/12/13...en-with-power/

You have fought for 15 years now Mark. How many shoulders have you dislocated with that strategy?

Mark has way to much heart for that, unless it's super clean, it won't finish that early.

Anyone who doubts his heart can re watch his Leapai fight.

Heart doesn't matter? His level of boxing just shows that he will be demolished first time he is hit by a massive puncher like Haye

Impossible to find a best fight on de Mori's CV.
The only one that comes close would be his draw against debutante Alex Leapai back in 2004.
Of course he made sure there was no rematch and no other Aussie got a chance to lower his colours
after John Wyborn put him away in the 1st round also in 2004.
A long line of stiffs and cans were to follow , 25 in fact. All but one from outside the top 200.

I sense your boy is getting cold feet.
Talking himself up isn't going to help.
Question is will he turn up on the night ? :OhYes:
