Hennessy Sports win the Blackwell vs Eubank Jr Purse bids.

Post by Reece_D »

Great news for Mick Hennessy winning the purse bids to stage the British title fight between Nick Blackwell vs Chris Eubank Jr. Will be a close entertaining fight if it were to happen. However i do feel team Eubank and Matchroom will now push for the Jacobs fight if possible to keep his fights on sky sports.

No way this fight happens. It's a shame that he's bypassed the British title.

Other great opportunities for Blackwell though.

Ryder, Langford, Doran or Etches all sell well.

Loves to beat a Brit does Sergey. Ryder hasn't developed as I thought he would.

Think Ryder will be too much and will win a comftable decision but no he certainly has not lived up to his potential.

Really would be a sahme if the Blackwell fight does not happen. Interesting to hear Eubank Jr attended the purse bids though.

Certainly no chance that we will see this fight, Eubank is moving on and would destroy Blackwell imo.

As for Ryder, he definitely hasn't moved on as quick as I thought he would. Khomitsky made me some decent money when he decked Buglioni and Etches. You can get 15/8 at the moment.

I think he'd beat, but definitely not destroy Blackwell. Eubank's power isn't top level and Blackwell seems very very tough.

Love Khomitsky coming over here.

Promoters don't seem to learn. A stupid fight to make in my opinion for Ryder.

If he wins people will say Khomitsky is showing signs of decline due to his age.
If he loses Ryder will get written off again.

Not enough reward there for the risk involved in my opinion. Poor matchmaking.

Eubank Jr ducked Blackwell many times before, during his bum of the month tour and after getting schooled by BJS. Blackwell is a better boxer then Spike and I see this as a very competitive fight and wouldn't be surprised if Blackwell won. Clearly Camp Eddie wont let Jr fight on channel 5 though so this fight aint happening.

Shame this won't happen as it would be a good fight. Blackwell would be Eubank's best opponent to date bar Saunders and his strength and durability would ask some questions of Eubank.

Isn't Khomitsky like 80 years old? Brits keep hoping that he finally fades.

He's done two prospects over in the last 18 months in Buglioni and Etches. I have no idea why Matchroom are taking the risk with Ryder. If he wins there is absolute no reward.

No huge ranking reward
Not huge money

Pretty sure Khomitsky is coming off a loss.
Doesn't make any sense with the risk/reward.

It's a good win but there's other good wins he cold have for similar money and less risk.

Ryder is not a big name fighter.

It's a good quality undercard fight and if Ryder loses then it doesn't really matter.

It seems like a pretty poor main event though. Is this really the main event of a Sky card?

No groves against the Italian Bute beat is the main event.
If they wanted a gatekeeper there's less dangerous ones to choose. Mendy springs to mind.

Blackwell would be a great next step for Jr. Difficult enough fight but still winnable. This would allow him to get more out of Booth training before going against higher level. Also, I dont know why cant it be on Sky, Hennessy don't have any exclusives as I know. It could be a mistake to rush Chris Jr into Jacobs fight.
