Great question.....keithmoonhangover wrote:Which fighters did you like that didn't get anywhere? Didn't get a world title shot etc.
I always liked John Westgarth even though I nver saw him fight. I love a gutsy journeyman who wins a couple of fights against prospects. Westgarth actually stopped oyebola and Glenn McCrory and went 7 rounds with Razor Ruddock.
I believe Dave Jaco, a skinny heavyweight also stopped Razor Ruddock.....

Jaco could bang mate. Bobby Crabtree was another big puncher.reggaereggae wrote:Great question.....keithmoonhangover wrote:Which fighters did you like that didn't get anywhere? Didn't get a world title shot etc.

Yeah they were weird ones. Journeymen who looked athletically unsuited to boxing but could bang.keithmoonhangover wrote:Jaco could bang mate. Leva Kirakosyan was a pretty basic boxer but had real one punch power, with either hand - I enjoyed watching him.

Lloyd honeyghan
Clinton woods- a real world champ who exceeded himself ,loved his series with glencoffe.plus he was on the bbc back when not much boxing on free tv
Sven ottke and tony ayala jnr - again saw all their fights on eurosport back when not much on freeview
As for the rest i miss the 80s and big 4
