The Heavyweight Division is the key to Boxing's success. It's always been this way and that will never change. Thank God we've had the welterweight division to keep us amused while the talent accumulated but now that we have a dense heavy division, better fights need to be made to get top billing over these heavyweights. Heavy's have always brought in the numbers from casual and die hard observers. The ramifications will be felt up and down the scale.

Fury reacted to a clean shot from Steve Cunningham by falling on his arse. Naven Pajkic had him on his backside too. They have 18 KOs between them.

How can you completely snub one of the world's most dominate heavyweights in history (Klitschko) and then put Fury, who beat him decisively, into a second tier category? You have Wilder, Ortiz and Joshua as the elites. No offense to Ortiz, but he's an interim paper champion (Fury is the only legit WBA title holder) and Joshua is clearly three years away from the top ten. That leaves Wilder.... who beat an undersized champion (Stiverne), and has sunsequently since defended the title against relative unknowns and fringe contenders, giving hush money to Povetkin and anyone else worth a crap.

You bring up Browne, Helenius and Jennings..... its laughable, because Helenius is rusty as hell and isnt showing anything to anyone the promise of who he once was and Browne is waiting on a title shot to be given him.... and I have a feeling he's just wanting to cash in and nothing more, else he would have gotten off his fat ass and start fighting, rather than be rusty as eff all by the time (if and when) he's given a shot.... and Jennings just got blown away by Ortiz (back to the drawing board!).

You need an education in this business, son. The top men in the world (realistically) are as follows: Tyson Fury, Vladimir Klitschko, Deontay Wilder, Alexander Povetkin and Luis Ortiz rounding out the top five. Ortiz, prior to Jennings, I wouldn't have pegged to be a top ten man in reality, but considering he blew out a man Klitschko went 12 with, speaks volumes. That being said, I'd like to see him in there with Wilder---- but I don't see that EVER happening--- so once again, we'll see a potential heavyweight fight a bunch of set ups that mean nothing, and the only real fight to watch is the Fury/Klitschko rematch.

For me, heavyweight has always been the most important, some of the dwarf fights are fun, but it annoys me to watch a couple of them fighting, knowing even I am easely capable of beating them both.

Id agree and say things are improving .

Wilder and fury and joshua i always thought one of them would end wlads reign.now it will be interesting to see if wlads defeat means the division is wide open.

I have always rated haye as quality .joshua tho looks less and less impressive since he got muscle bound more a poor mans frank bruno in the making rather than the lennox mk 1 (pre manny) i thought he could turn out as.

But stiverne ,povetkin and jennings are the only "talented"also rans who have all been well beaten in their biggest matchups.

People like helenius,whyte,pulev,ortiz,the chinese i dont rate as offering any kind of quality imo.

We need more athletes in the 215-229 range rather than overweight slobs and valuev/fury types......usk may well be the answer if he can move up but its all an if.

I hold out strong faith deontay wilder will clean up.

But yes i agree we should get more competitive exciting fights

helenius is undefeated, beat brewster and peter. most important the guy has the rare combination of height + power and quality combination punching. if he comes in shape he is dangerous.

pulev is strong, i would favour him over povetkin.

as far as ortiz goes, why dont you see his talent, its to damn obvious. a combination puncher with nice foowork, great balance and big time power, he is arguably the best heavyweight in the world, do your homework.

The Heavyweights have always been #1 in my book. They are the division.

Sure, there've been boring fights but you can say that about any division. Andy lee isn't a HW and he's the dullest "fighter" I've ever seen. His "fight" against Quillin was a staredown.
