Agree 100%. Went to the Ally Pally for the first time last night, to get thousands in to watch that is a major achievement! Even though the vast majority aren't really watching the darts itself.....PredatorHayds wrote:He's performed miracles with the darts.samwbr wrote:Because despite all the criticism he gets Matchroom are very savvy and make poo loads of cash. He's messaged peter the contract apparently.
Surely Hennessy sports deserve more than Eddie. Mick has been great with Tyson.
How has Eddie pulled a third of a fight he wasn't involved in??

Re: Camp Eddies Ppv's.
I spend all my time slating Camp Eddie but always say if he delivers the big fights I'll give him the credit he deserves. Then I read the following articles (about fights he hasn't made yet) and just want to kick him unbelievably hard in the balls
http://www.boxingnewsonline.net/anthony ... rld-title/
"He's going to fight Klitschko, if he beats him, we might have a belt by then. If he doesn’t, as a challenger if the terms are right we’ll take the fight. Over 1 ½ million pay per view buys, of course it sells out Wembley three times. He’s got to beat Klitschko first, that’s not a given. I think he will,” Hearn mused. “These mega-fights take time."
http://www.boxingnewsonline.net/kell-br ... ne-4-2016/
“We’re talking, I’ve sent through the figures for a proposed bout June 4 at Wembley [stadium] and I think it will happen,” Hearn told Boxing News earlier. “They know how much money is in the pot. Tell me what you want.”

I cant open the links mate so I'm struggling to get your anger for Camp Eddie on this one
Perhaps you'd care to explain?

Re: Camp Eddies Ppv's.
the first is about Joshua's route to the world title and potentially a Fury fight and the fact that it sells so wellCounter-puncher wrote:I cant open the links mate so I'm struggling to get your anger for Camp Eddie on this one

the second is about the Khan Brook fight which is still hinging on Khan waiting on Pacquiao.
oh, and how it sells so well.
Camp Eddie just comes across as a wanker as usual ro be honest.
everything is a ppv fight and a wembley sell out despite the fact neither fight is close to being made

Not just Wembley sellout mate
Sell Wembley three times over I believe he said.
I believe the figures from the ppv would blow Camp Eddie's mind. Interestingly when I use the word Camp my autocorrect suggests Eddie straight away.

Re: Camp Eddies Ppv's.
Camp Eddie seems to be obsessed with PPV at the moment. He's only interested in talking up the next AJ PPV or Khan vs Brook PPV. He is putting all his PPV eggs in two baskets, when he has his entire stable to look after. The AJ bubble will burst eventually, and Brook will come unstuck at elite level (if he ever makes a fight in that class). If I was one of eddies prospects/mid level fighters I'd be asking serious questions about what happens when it all goes sour. Too much focus at the top of the pile.
Re: Camp Eddies Ppv's.
I think Eddies greed is going to cost him money ,, This little shenanagins withy the furys will get there back up and make the biggest selling fight in UK history hard to put on ,, AJ --Fury ,,, he's shown his hand now , and you can bet a penny to a pound the furys will not deal with him unless its in there favor and in a contract superceding all other contracts ,,, Shame because given these two could keep winning for a year or two , That fight would be HUGE , and it will now probably never happen

If you're not PPV worthy, you best get your passport out, as Stephen Smith has just found out. FW would have taken a punt and put that on at home.

Okay, question right now, who would you prefer to have the Sky monopoly; Fwank or Camp Eddie?

Just hope that Smith is getting the proverbial "life changing money" for this "opportunity".
As you say, apart from the top couple of lads, the rest (Barker, Bellew, Smith etc.) are just used to fill a PPV card against lower level opposition before being sent abroad to get a good hiding.

This. All promoters should be able to build a card and see if sky/box.nation or whoever want to show it for a fee. Pretty sure sky wouldn't pick up some of the shows from eddie over the last couple of years.

Like Crolla,Selby had to do last year also Mitchell got a shot at home,I`m not Hearn`s biggest fan but we have to have some balance on these issues.mickey1975 wrote:If you're not PPV worthy, you best get your passport out, as Stephen Smith has just found out. People slag Hearn off but imagine how bad the scene would be without him?

i'm sure we would survive.
just to clarify; Big Events like Cleverley - Bellew 2, Events which promote themselves pretty much, these would make it to the front of any broadcaster's schedule, in any ea, no matter if Camp Eddie or Brian Potter was promoting
Re: Camp Eddies Ppv's.
Do you really want to talk about crap titles when we are discussing the two promoters and the fact that two of the champions Hearn brought over were on a ppv show doesn`t change the fact that they had a shot at the title, the ppv issue is another issue entirely we are talking about home advantage.mickey1975 wrote:For crap titles or on PPV?ashedward wrote:Like Crolla,Selby had to do last year also Mitchell got a shot at home,I`m not Hearn`s biggest fan but we have to have some balance on these issues.mickey1975 wrote:If you're not PPV worthy, you best get your passport out, as Stephen Smith has just found out. Re: Camp Eddies Ppv's.
We'll if we're talking about crap Ppv's I would say 1 out of the 6 ppv's Matchroom have produced could be classed as crap and not worth the money imo not the worst ratio in the world but that won't be a popular opinion on this thread I knowCounter-puncher wrote:well, this thread is more about Camp Eddie's crap ppv's actually.ashedward wrote:Do you really want to talk about crap titles when we are discussing the two promoters and the fact that two of the champions Hearn brought over were on a ppv show doesn`t change the fact that they had a shot at the title, the ppv issue is another issue entirely we are talking about home advantage.mickey1975 wrote: For crap titles or on PPV?

The problem is you can't retrospectively pay if it provided entertainment. I'd say on paper most of the Matchroom PPV's, at the time they're asking you to fork out, haven't appeared to be worth the money/overhyped. I suppose it comes down to what you'd classify as PPV worthy. For me, the likes of this recent Joshua/Whyte card was entertaining, but no more so than plenty others on regular Sky, so the additional £16.99 (or whatever it was) narks.ashedward wrote:We'll if we're talking about crap Ppv's I would say 1 out of the 6 ppv's Matchroom have produced could be classed as crap and not worth the money imo not the worst ratio in the world but that won't be a popular opinion on this thread I knowCounter-puncher wrote:well, this thread is more about Camp Eddie's crap ppv's actually.ashedward wrote:

I understand that point of view for sure and he definitely has been a bit lucky with some of them and it will get to the point where the market is over saturated and even I will decide enough is enough. There will be around 5 or 6 next year and with Wazzas new platform ok they say as a subscriber I won't be out of pocket even so something is going to give in the marketplace place as far as I'm concerned.simonwalsh wrote:The problem is you can't retrospectively pay if it provided entertainment.
