he had non-compete clause with GB and his severance pay meant
he couldn't work for another promoter for i forget how long. he also
was sued by oscar and wound up settling, and considering he tried to
steal oscar's company anyone would have to have rocks in their head to
hire him. he never really needed boxing to make a living. he probably
made more before being invited into the business by oscar.

No-compete due to his separation with GBP. Will be back next year with PBC.

He completely destroyed GoldenBoy Promotion and shuld be in jail. Snake.

He had a good sense of humor though. I remember after Matthysse beat Peterson he jumped into the ring with a microphone and screamed that he was "the new manny pacquaio"

eff that guy.
I blame Oscar just as much. If Oscar wasn't stoned out of his mind dressing in women's underwear he might have notice that crap wasn't right.
But he had coke up his nose and kock up his arse so he has to take some blame for this

True. Also, if it weren't for Schaefer, there would be no GBP period. Oscar doesn't really understand what's going on, he's not much more than a figurehead for GBP.

Bullshit.

Oscar isn't a business man. He's just a powerful brand name. He appointed a CEO. These CEO type guys are ten-a-penny. Millions of people could have done Schaeffer's job. It just so happens he appointed a lowlife corrupt thief, yet another snake in the boxing world, who deliberately and maliciously tanked what was boxibg's 2nd biggest promotionsl company.

Nobody is more responsible for the abomination we call PBC than Richard Schaeffer.

Oscar is doing much better at being a business man, now that he has removed the other 'distractions' from his life.

He's a promoter with 1 fighter... if canelo wasn't a loyal mexican he'd be out of business.

The main reason why I do not see a Canelo - GGG fight happening.
If Canelo gets flattened quickly Oscar has nothing

He will likely be with boxing in some capacity soon. His restrictions expired in September.

there already was a gbp before schaefer. what a crackhead thing to say.
all oscar did was change the name of his company when he hired schaefer.
oscar was not only the biggest thing in boxing, but he transcended boxing,
and was on every tv and radio show in dozens of countries almost daily.
oscar was already promoting the biggest cards in boxing: his own.
he also had endorsement deals and a substantial investment portfolio,
which is how schaefer originally came onto the scene. if oscar wanted
to make any card the biggest card in boxing, all he needed to do was
fight on it, and nobody in boxing could draw more attention than oscar
to any card just by going out and talking about it on any show he felt
like going on in spanish or english any time he wanted.
who the phuque is schaefer in boxing? he mainly handled oscar's investment
portfolio and he completely royally screwed up the contract situation, which
was his main job in boxing, and then tried to conspire with haymon to steal
the company. he's lucky he's not in jail.

pbc is a tv series on different networks and haymon is a manager who uses
different regional promoters to stage the events. what value does schaefer
add to that scenario? haymon already has his fighters signed and doesn't
need promoters contracts. schaefer came into boxing with a guarantee
from oscar that his salary would match his earning from his career in finance.
schaefer could go back and earn that much in finance or maybe more.
what does he have to offer anyone in boxing at this point that will earn
him that kind of salary? he bit the hand that fed him and you would have
to have rocks in your head to hire that guy and he will never get paid in
boxing what he could get paid in his former career. he can say whatever
he wants to say, but talk is just talk and if nobody asked him any more
questions he would stop loitering.

I'm guessing he will team up with Haymon and Floyd, and the three as a team will pretty much control boxing, imo.
