Even though Hatton was fighting above his best weight and Cortez wasn't letting Ricky fight on the inside he gave Floyd a tough fight up until the KO and the American commentator's had it close I believe.

Mayweather has repeatedly claimed that Emmanuel Burton was his toughest fight. They went to war in that fight.

That makes impressive reading - none of those fights were that tough.
Castillo 1 - many felt it could have gone to castillo - i disagree, but note that mayweather was injured and won an immediate rematch.
Delahoya was closish, but this is a guy fighting with a full weight division advantage.
... And thats about it.

You don't feel it could have gone to Castillo? Would you have considered it a robbery if JLC got the decision?

I've sat there actively trying to score that fight for mayweather and not found it easy

Same here.. It really seemed like one guy was pressing the fight, doing more damage, and controlling the ring. The rematch told a different story, yet inexplicably got scored closer than their first fight. I thought JLC edged the first one and Floyd clearly won the second one.

This should be in boxers of the past

1. First fight was just Maidana using UFC-like tactics, second fight Floyd won so easily the result was a foregone conclusion

2. Best and closely fought contest, Cotto fell about 4 rounds short though

3. Oscar looked more effective than he really was due to the crowd noise/them being on his side but that fight wasn't nowhere near as close as people perceive it to be, 8-4 Floyd

4. Castillo 1 was a fight I had originally scored for Castillo but when I go back and look at it without the crowd noise and especially the HBO Cheerleading by Lampley and Merchant then I clearly scored it for Floyd by 2 rounds. The second bout wasn't nowhere near as close as the first, anytime Castillo tried to move in he got potshotted with straight rights from long distance and immediately countered throughout the fight; Floyd 116-112

The most competitive was Cotto, out of the fighters who appeared busier in these contests then that easily goes to Castillo but aggression means nothing when it isn't effective despite the CompuBox, crowd noise and HBO Cheerleading, not to mention the Hate-Hate Love Affair the public has for Mayweather.

Mayweather had a lot of trouble with the pressure of Castillo and Maidana first time round with each. Doesn't matter what tactics they used.

Easily the first Castillo fight IMO (I had it 115-111 to Castillo, I could see a draw, but those scorecards were a joke), followed by the first Maidana fight (I scored it a draw).

I actually thought the Pacquiao fight (I thought Manny won rounds 2, 3, 4, 6 and 10) was closer than the Cotto fight (I scored it 8-4 to Floyd but could see as wide as 9-3), mostly because Floyd's performance in the Cotto fight was much better.

The Judah fight should be mentioned too, because the scorecards were wider than they should have been and a knockdown of Mayweather wasn't noticed. I had Judah winning rounds 1, 2, 3 and 12 but it could be argued he won the 4th as well, which if the KD was counted, makes it a one point fight.

This should be in boxers of the past.Come on he is retired.

Catillo 1 I scored very closely for Castillo.

Next closest was Maidana 1 and I had Floyd up by 2 rounds

Oscar lost by 4 rounds not close in my opinion.Only true haters could score that for Oscar.
Cotto lost by 4 rounds.
Castillo 2 Castillo lost by 7 rounds
Maidana 2 Maidana lost by 5 rounds

I only see 1 loss and a close fight with a brawler who had nothing to lose in Maidana.
Floyd is a worthless piece of crap as a person but one of the best fighters I have ever seen.

So glad he is retired

I don't recall saying he never had problems with anyone, of course a boxer would have problems with someone doing another sport in the ring with them..

Maidana used UFC tactics, Hatton used Wrestling, if you come to play Hockey and someone starts boxing then obviously you are going to have a problem with the tactics they're using.

Well, using that train of thought, you could say Floyd used track and field tactics.

Fighters are rarely honest in their "best I've faced" interviews. This is a prime example. He dominated Augustus and won every round before stopping him.

If you look closely at Floyd's back with his shirt off, and I know you do, you will notice an an imprint of a top rope running across just below his shoulders.

I agree. You'd never guess from watching that fight that Floyd would go on to call it a standout of any kind.

Not to suggest that it's something mind-blowing, but here's an early fight where he was quite a bit less dominant than usual: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=pgCshY_8Huk

Rumor has it that one of his Baby Momma's gave him the best fight of all in front of her children. She took quite a beating that day from Floyd but it was close. Thankfully, Moretti scored it in Floyd's favor again.
