really? some girl out there actually gave her a fight? I'm impressed. did they give her any issues in the standup?
Valerie Letourneau was her opponent and she is tough as nails. She actually has really good standup, and has only really been beaten soundly once about seven or eight years ago against Sarah Kaufmann. Her stock went up a lot after her tough fight with Jędrzejczyk. She also gave Claudia Gadelha (one of the best BJJ gals in the sport) her second toughest fight with the other one being a split loss to Joanna.

The fight really got lost in coverage because of Rousey getting sparked, but it was the best fight of the card.

Thanks, I will look out for her. Women's mma is a bit better than I thought if there are even a couple of girls who cam give JJ a fight; I pretty much fell in love with JJ at first sight.

It is if you know where to look. It's still in it's infancy at the moment so you will see some girls out there that are painfully lacking skills. But there is a group of very good women currently fighting or getting ready to. JJ is the best current women's mixed martial artist in my opinion. I ranked her above Rousey before her crushing loss, too.

If you want a future name to watch for check out Mackenzie Dern; she's the number one ranked BJJ woman in the world, recently won the ADCC World Championship and took silver in the World Jiu-Jitsu Championship. She's training for MMA right now and should be debuting next year. I'm not sure what camp she's with, but hopefully they are working on her stand up because her ground game will instantly be the best in the business.

I caught a match she had in Abu Dhabi earlier this year. I have no clue how the match was scored, but the place erupted when she beat Gabi Garcia

Here in Aus McGregor is the betting favourite over Aldo. It really is incredible what hype can do and how people making the odds can be swayed by it. Aldo is paying 2.25 for the win and was paying 2.54 before the Rousey fight. McGregor could win because he is tough and has power but there is no fight in the 145lb division where Aldo shouldn't be the favourite given how proven he is and his stellar record.

Agreed, I'm still unsure of the outcome. But Aldo should be favorite. Might be worth a bet

Also v McGregor.
Honestly still undecided here. I know how good Jose is. And I believec Connor is more than hype too. No outcome will suprise me. One thing I will say though is, Connor best keep he's hands up, I'd he carries them low like he did v Mendes, he'll be on for a long night.

Weidman v Rockhold,
Weidman by KO , third round
Somethin about Luke rubs me the wrong way, seems like a bit of a douche

Nelson v maia.
Someone is getting submitted here. I'm picking gunnar for the win
Same as you on the first two... albeit I think Weidman might stop him a bit quicker than the 3rd.

I don't think either gets the sub in Nelson vs Maia.... but still can't wait to watch these two go at it. I've got Maia by decision.

I *think* Aldo will edge McGregor, but that fight is truly 50/50 to me.

I've got Rockhold winning round one, and then getting stopped in the second.

I'm going for Nelson all the way, but I think Maia takes a split decision.

It's going to be a really good card.

Well that was quick.

The question is now, does Aldo get a immediate rematch? Or should McGregor fight Edgar?

I'm guessing Weidman will get a rematch. That was a competitive fight untill he tried that stupid kick.

I think he should/will. Taken out by the first punch of the fight, been champ for 6 years he deserves it. Rousey got one after a complete beatdown.

I think he should too, but I can see the ufc setting up Edgar/ Macgregor in Dublin.

So dos Anjos or cowboy?
And dos santos v Overeem?

I love cowboy, he's probably in my top five favourite active fighters, but I can see dos Anjos mauling him and winning a wide UD.

same with JDS, he's another of my favourites, I think he will stop Overeem in the second. He's probably past he's best but I don't see alistairs chin holding up to the power of JDS

Agree about Cowboy. Seems a top lad and one of the gamest fighters in the UFC (except for the Diaz fight). Dos Anjos obviously already holds a win over him but there's a few people in the biz (Brendan Shaub for example) who are convinced Dos Anjos wont be the same with the new testing in place. I think this may be Cowboy's time.

I think you're right about the co-main event too. Overeem has skills but no chin. JDS has power and a good chin (proved that in the beatings he took from Cain). In my opinion Overeem should call it a day if he loses.

Johnson V Diaz is an interesting fight too. Good card.

You mean the IV thing? Or is dos Anjos allegedly doping? Some of these Brazilian guys seem a little dodgy

Can't remember exactly what was said. It was on the latest 'Fighter and the Kid' episode. He also made an indirect accusation about Mendes. He said he could tell by a lot of the fighters body shapes that things had changed compared to their last fights.

Bit of an early stoppage in the JDS fight I thought. Dos Anjos looked impressive.
That Diaz fight was a cracker too

Dos Anjos has come on leaps and bounds. Looks a completely different fighter to the one with losses to Stephens, Griffin, Guida and Tibau.

I think the Nurmagomedov fight was a big turning point for him.
