Billy Joe Saunders clearly outbox Andy Lee

Post by psychod1986 »

Saunders rocked Lee in 3rd round also dropping him twice.I thought fight wasn't as close as the judges scored it because Saunders won more rounds, for one judge to score the bout a draw is ridiculous.

Saunders won the fight, but it was very close because Lee ralied in the last rounds and was clearly winning them, especially the last round.

I would like to see compubox stats for this fights, they would probably be on the same level as Klitschko-Fury

"Outboxed" ... seriously?? It was a pathetic display and had I been the ref i would have instructed them to engage in round 5 and if it carried on the same would have called it off by round 8.

saunders threw less punches per round as the fight went on than your
average ishe smith snoozefest. anyone who think saunders won any
clear rounds in that fight other than the third needs his eyes checked.
most of those rounds were pickem and i saw the last 4 as clear for lee.
i look at who comes forward, initiates the exchanges, lands more, lands
the better shots, and basically gets the better of the exchanges. lee
was the busier fighter in most rounds but in most rounds very little
happened. the clear rounds were all to lee. i wouldn't want to see a
rematch of that fight, though, because it was hard to watch. saunders
won't have that title for long if he fights any of the legit top 5 in the
division, and probably wouldn't get past most of the next 5 down. he
should cash in vs cotto in new york if he can, then get into better shape
and move down to 154 and take smith's wbo title if he still has it.

I had Lee winning the fight because Saunders did nothing after his big round. Back in the day you had to really beat the champ to be the champ. But even under today's pathetic scoring, Lee made up the points he Le lost and u had him winning the fight or at the very worst,a draw.

Danny Jacobs did say it correctly though afterwards, Lee never put his foot on the gas like a guy chasing a 10-7 round should have.

There was nothing clear in that fight beside that we saw two cautious B level fighters, and that two KDs decided the outcome. Without the KDs, it would be a draw or Lee win.
