Takes me right back to being a teenager staying up til the early hours for the big Naz or Lennox fights - Dempsey would always host the show looking top notch in a black tux, and gave a sense of gravitas & importance to proceedings which Sky just doesn't have any more. Ed Robinson is about the only presenter on Sky who I can take seriously.

You won't regret it. Get allegedly, well worth the money, and then if there's a PPV you want on Sky, you can get it anyway.

Sky is terrible value for money. They must be losing a lot of customers now that B.T have eaten into their football coverage in a big way.

You'll probably get offered a much improved deal in the next month. I remember Sklar a few months back saying his Sky package basically cost him a grand a year. I dunno what package he has but I'd be cancelling too if I was paying 80-90-£100 a month. I pay £55-£60 a month for my Sky package and that's broadband, phone line, original to package with sports, movies. I could upgrade to hd for another £6.

It's just a case of threatening to leave them during your last month. The agent will do you a deal. I probably don't even have the best deal either, I bet if I said to the first agent no I'll cancel I'd get an email a week later offering even more money off.

Ultimately tho if people genuinely are only watching sky tv for boxing (a claim I always consider a load of bollocks) then it's just a case of considering your options.

you have to proactively call them when you're contract is due for renewal shortly, and tell them you're leaving them unless they give you a better offer, and negotiate with them.

I do this every year with my mobile supplier, last year I got an early upgrade to Galaxy S6 with 128 GB of storage (as opposed to the measly 16gb they offered me) - plus an extra 8GB of data on my contract for the same price I paid before for 4GB allowance.

It's the one time you have any leverage with these companies, they're desperate to retain the business as they know that if you join another supplier, that's a minimum of 12 months they have lost your revenue.
