Nobody is exactly kicking the door in for #1 spot.

Here is their 2015 form:

1. Daniel Geale - 1 x fight for 1 loss
2. Sam Soliman - 1 x fight for 1 controversial loss
3. Sakio Bika - 1 x fight for 1 loss
4. Lucas Browne - 1 x fight for 1 win
5. Jeff Horn - 4 x fights for 4 wins
6. Blake Caparello - 2 x fights for 2 wins
7. Anthony Mundine - 1 x fight for 1 loss
8. Billy Dib - 1 x fight for 1 loss
9. Will Tomlinson - 2 x fights for 1 controversial win and 1 x loss
10. Lenny Zapavigna - 1 x fight for 1 win

Probably only Horn, Caparello and Zapavigna have done anything this year to enhance their standing.

That list could look very different this time next year. About half of the fighters named are probably only one loss away from retirement. If Jeff Horn fulfils his potential he may well be #1 in 12 months time.

Ratings should be on the quality of opposition.

Points to Geale, Bika and Dib for taking on the cream of their respective divisions.
Will took on the very dangerous Vargas.
Sam was very unlucky dropping a decision to Wade who is ranked #10.
Even Mundine managed to fight Hatley who is ranked #12.

Not fighting a fighter who is ranked in the top 50 in the world for the entire 12 months of 2015 is not really a good look and Browne,Horn, Cappa and Zappa didn't even come close.

Out of the 6 who did step up and fight someone credible only Sam and Bika didn't get blown away. For that reason i would have
#1 Bika
#2 Soliman
#3 Geale
#4 Dib
#5 Tomlinson
#6 Mundine
#7 Horn
#8 Cappa
#9 Browne
#10 Zappa.

Losing, and only losing, at a higher level than other guys are winning at doesn't rate that highly with me.

We've had guys fight for world titles in the past few years who weren't even close to world class. Points for their courage, but getting KOed or absolutely schooled doesn't raise their stocks IMO.

The thread starter posted a list and asked "What would you change?''.
I listed my changes and the reasons why i listed those changes.
Interesting that you don't regard Geale, Bika, Soliman as world class.
Please post your rankings.

You have assumed I was referring to Geale, Bika and Soliman with my comments above.

Soliman was performing very well against Taylor in his title defence (last year) until his knee went, and in my opinion beat Wade. So despite his age he is still world class, or thereabouts, and with a bit of luck could still be a title holder.

Bika has been world class or thereabouts for many years.

Geale is one of our greatest ever. But found his glass ceiling against the very best in GGG and Cotto.

There have been an almost endless list of other Aussies who have fought for world titles and fallen, in many cases horrendously, short. They are the ones I was more specifically referring to earlier.

I'll work on a top 10 and if I come up with one I'm post it. But it is a forlorn task when the 2015 form is so bleak and the list above was titled "P4P List 2015."

I assumed you were talking about Geale, Soliman and Bika because they appear on the list.
2015 was another horror year on the world scene for Australian fighters but an Aussie P4P list can still be made.
IMO a top 5 is about as high as needed.

I have great respect for Bika. But he hasn't won a fight in two years. I'd perhaps have Soliman at 1. But it really is a chook raffle.

That really is a horriblel list tbh (not the way it's composed, but the lack of new blood and talent in Australia atm)
Geale, soliman, Mundine, Bika, these guys have been onP4p lists here in oz forever! Were is the new blood?
Tomlinson never lived up to anything and needs Crocker hometown judging to get decisions now. Zappavinga still fighting cans.
At least horn looks promising

Exactly why I'm predicting if Jeff Horn fulfils his potential he may well be #1 in 12 months time.

I've been a huge fan of Geale, Soliman and Bika. But they are heading south now. That's the reality.

I have looked at possible changes to the order and nothing really looks right. If it was a boxing org setting the list they would probably declare the title vacant and perhaps the first few positions below it as well.

Me too man, I'm not bagging them. Geale is one of my favorite fighters ever. It's just depressing that a bunch of shopworn fighters in their late thirties and early forties is the best we can offer
