IKE, "President" eyeing a comeback.
He will be 42 on 2-2-16. He is 20-0-0 w/five distance fights. Last match was on March 20, 1999 when he tKo-5 Chris Byrd (26-0-0 enter). He was #1 Hvy-wt contender when law situation developed. Headed to "riches and glory". Besides Chris, David Tua his other "big win" (June 7,'97). That fight, for any who have forgotten was proclaimed and noted as "historical, statistically" for ACTIVE [watch it yourself on You Tube].
"The President" has been resting in Arizona. Luke Williams a writer for Boxing Monthly magazine based in UK will soon be doing a story about Ike, and his plans. He is the first writer to tap- in there.
With Attorney bonding I am able to offer "something"/as yet undeveloped plan/to back Ike on return. Interested party may contact me at 860-515-7680 ONLY WITHIN' USA a.t.t., please. Or: email me at [email protected] John Wilkinson in NEW BRITAIN,CT. Note: not certain yet what sort of a "PLAN" but something to pave a base for him and we collect that back with a set purse after taxes % that we will bank and "cut" return in dividend checks contracts at 3 1/2 years and 4 1/2 years. This is yet in development. We ARE NOT TALKING "funds" for another 45 days at least this must be both "reputable"/ & LEGAL. I haven't made any "contract" like this before.

Before that happens.... I hope to Jesus that he gets an MRI brain scan done, as well as pass a battery of psychiatric tests and pass them, before EVER being issued a license. Personally, I don't think he should ever be allowed to box again. After what he did, I don't care what excuse he ever gave, or how much time he done---- there ought to be permanent punishments and consequences for one's actions. Besides, come on, how many people honestly believe some man whose been in lock up for ten years or better, is going to become heavyweight champion of the world? It's nothing more than a pipe dream.ImranSarwar wrote:He will be 42 on 2-2-16. He is 20-0-0 w/five distance fights. Last match was on March 20, 1999 when he tKo-5 Chris Byrd (26-0-0 enter). why is a bipolar serial rapist not being deported after being released from prison?
is this another nigerian email fraud thing where you "invest" in some ridiulous
scheme by giving your bank information to barrister so and so from london?
i mean, the attorney doesn't even have a domain name for his firm and uses hotmail?

No.... its a garuntee. There has NEVER been a man in the history of boxing, regardless of weight division, who was gone for more than four years and managed to win the title back without a tuneup. George Foreman was gone ten years, yes, but he also had nearly 30 tune ups before Holyfield. Fought several times after that, splitting wins and losses, before stopping Moorer. He's the lone exception in the history of the sport. No offense, but the odds are extremely against Ibeabuchi from winning anything. The man has spent most of his time in a six by eight cell, doing nothing. Whatever was there, would take many years to rebuild. By the time that was even accomplished, he'd be in his 50's and have no chance. Stick a fork in it, he's done.

Who said he will immedietly get a title shot? He will fight tume ups, and when he does we will get an answer, till then keep thinking that, you are a weak minded human, Anything can happen in the world of boxing.

And I think you are a criminal. Anyone who would try and promote and get fights for Ibeabuchi, at this age, with such insurmountable odds against him, and with his criminal history.... ought to not have a license to lawyer, dictate, or match make. All that man is going to end up doing is getting hurt, getting knocked out by some young buck, or seriously injured. People like yourself ought to be criminally prosecuted for even thinking about getting a license for a man that old, who hasn't fought in so long, etc. I garuntee, the moment the money runs out, and the man falls... you will walk away from the business venture. Like the vulture you are.Aaronide_ger wrote:Who said he will immedietly get a title shot? Out of custody, heavyweight Ike Ibeabuchi plans comeback at 43
Ike Ibeabuchi was once one of boxing's greatest championship prospects, a massive heavyweight with quickness and incredible punching power. The Nigerian was 20-0 with 15 knockouts while competing from 1994 through March 20, 1999, and had notable victories over David Tua and Chris Byrd.
But Ibeabuchi had numerous legal issues and on July 22, 1999, he was accused of sexually assaulting a dancer he'd hired to come to his room at a hotel in Las Vegas.
On Nov. 8, 2001, Ibeabuchi submitted an Alford plea on charges of battery with intent to commit a crime and attempted sexual assault. An Alford plea is one in which the defendant does not admit the charges, but concedes it is likely the prosecutiion has enough evidence that it is likely he would be found guilty.
Ibeabuchi received sentences of two to 10 years for the battery conviction and three to 20 years on the attempted sexual assault charge. A judge ruled the convinctions would be served consecutively.
He was released by the Nevada prison system on Feb. 28, 2014, but was handed to the U.S. Immigration & Customs Enforcement, which detained him in Eloy, Ariz. He was released from custody by ICE in November.
Ibeabuchi contacted Yahoo Sports by telephone on Christmas and said he hoped to fight on the planned Manny Pacquiao card on April 9 in Las Vegas. He's hired Michael Koncz, Pacquiao's adviser, to lead his career. Koncz told Yahoo Sports that Ibeabuchi has his blessing to be on the undercard.

Re: Out of custody, heavyweight Ike Ibeabuchi plans comeback at 43
So a man in his mid 40's, who was released from prison two years ago, is planning a comeback.
Ike was decent a couple of decades ago but the heavyweight division is in the best shape it's been since around the time he was locked up.
We have lots of good fighters in their 20's to watch.
Best of luck to Ike in the rest of his life. I hope his mental issues have eased meaning that he doesn't cause harm to any more people.

Re: IKE, "President" eyeing a comeback.
he's in his early 40's, which is not that old for a heavyweight these days,
especially without all the mileage. as far as winning a title, all boxers
talk about winning titles but only a few do, so how is this any different?
he's a foreigner felon, probably with no other job skills, who hopes for a
few heavyweight paychecks after getting out of jail for being a crazy serial
rapist. i ask again:
why is a serial bipolar felon who is not a citizen STILL HERE?!?!
i mean, we have enough americans menacing the streets,
and now we need to start importing them? after your 4th or
5th kidnapping/rape conviction, maybe it's time to go home?
hope you enjoyed your stay now get the hell out. bye

Without mileage? I guess he took more heavy punches from Tua than many boxers during entire career.sucracristo wrote:he's in his early 40's, which is not that old for a heavyweight these days,

And while early 40 is not that old generally, it depends a lot on the situation. Ike would not be making a comeback like Vitali (who was around 37, always in shape and had a title fight guaranteed as "champion emeritus"). He would be 43, with years of inactivity (looked like 300+ on some old photos from jail), and will be probably deported to Nigeria shortly.

This should be interesting looking forward to making his claim.
Re: IKE, "President" eyeing a comeback.
He fights Wilder for the title in his comeback u heard it here first
Re: IKE, "President" eyeing a comeback.
I've got to agree with Henry and Sucracisto here. He should be deported. Stick a fork in it. Also it sickens me a bit that his nickname derives from a great American, (Eisenhower) who was a real General and President.

For me, it just makes no real sense to happen.Tony1244 wrote:I've got to agree with Henry and Sucracisto here. He should be deported. Stick a fork in it. Also it sickens me a bit that his nickname derives from a great American, (Eisenhower) who was a real General and President.
I've seen too many old men make ring returns lately.... Jose Ribalta, Bert Cooper, Razor Ruddock to name three. All of them fell flat on their faces, rather devestatingly and it did nothing for their legacies, and was apparent its all about the money.
This situation is no different. Had the man been in prison, say three-five years, it would have been different. You could have possibly found some reason to believe that he could revert to old form after a series of comeback fights---- sort of like Tyson. However, I've followed boxing and its history since I was a kid, and can tell you its nothing but an insane dream to believe a man can be gone from the ring for ten years plus and become champion of the world again. Foreman was the exception, not the rule.
This is the most dangerous sport in the world. This isn't like chess, and Bobby Fisher making a comeback after being gone for decades. This is a young man's game. And the heavyweights are taller, bigger, stronger than in Ibeabuchi's time. Yes, at his best, he was something to really watch.... but I would rather him stay away, rather than be destroyed by some no namer, or worse be decapitated by some real good prospect in a fight that he doesn't deserve having.
Of all the people to return to the ring... Ibeabuchi is one of the last on my list. I'd rather see Calzaghe come back, before I'd see Ibeabuchi come back. I'd rather see Lennox Lewis dust off the mitts and do a charity boxing match with John Fury, before I would want to see Ibeabuchi come back. I'd rather see Vitali Klitschko put his Ukranian Presidential dreams on hold for another year, to use his championship emeritus card and challenge Tyson Fury, before I'd see Ibeabuchi come back.
I'm old enough to remember when Jerry Quarry came back the last time. I'm old enough to remember when Saul Mamby and others attempted comebacks, and look like absoloute fools fighting on Indian Reservations. It's on par with Riddick Bowe coming back to fight in Mau Thai and losing miserably. It does NOTHING for boxing, to have this man come back. It does NOTHING for boxing, to have this man ultimately fail. Boxing has enough regulatory problems, and strict commissioners and controversies in all aspects of the game without adding this man to the list.
It's a tragedy waiting to happen. I'd rather see fighters come together, pool their cash, and send Ibeabuchi back to his native land and have him become a fight promoter, or trainer, or something else other than being a fighter. Come on now. We're all adults here. Let's start acting like men and real fans that give a sh#t about the business, and not encourage this man to make a comeback.

Not to start a flaming war here, but i suspect Canadian writer James Bacque would have a word or two to say about that.Tony1244 wrote: Also it sickens me a bit that his nickname derives from a great American, (Eisenhower) who was a real General and President.

I'll check that out. I know the far left and the far right hated IKE. That's usually a good sign for me.

There's a difference between what I learn and what I read. I read some excerpts from the Canadian author and it all sounds very interesting. Have no idea if it's true. My guess is, it isn't. But guesses can be very wrong. I'm agnostic on many things and try to keep an open mind. We were told that we were attacked by N. Vietnam which led to the Gulf of Tonkin Resolution. We now know that was false. We were led to believe The Warren Commission erred, now most scholars say it was pretty much on the mark.
Either way, can't feel guilty about IKE, because I wasn't voting age till 1980.

If Ibeabuchi was 35, he'd have a chance. But he's 42 and has not fought in ages. He'll fight grade C people, get a knockout or two, and angle for a big fight with one of the alphabet champs if he looks beatable and take a low ball offer.
