I think that Boxing will have a great year in 2016 but i'm not holding my breath for the GGG/Canelo & Kovalev/Ward superfights. Nothing is signed and anyone can legally walk away from these fights right now. Now let's trickle in the fact that we have Andre Ward involved in one fight. He's about as reliable as a wet dream. Then you still have the weight issue hanging over the GGG/Canelo tilt even though Golden Boy Exec says it's at 160, nothing has been agreed to or signed.

In reality, the boxing schedule for 2016 is empty right now. No huge fights are penciled in and signed for. Not a pessimist but everything sucks. lol

Is this what you want to happen or what you expect will happen. Because I don't expect any of those fights to happen.

despite everyone predicting crawford moving up to welter for pac, he really just made it
up to 140 from 135 this year. if the pac fight doesn't happen at 147, between crawford,
broner, postol, troyanovsky, algieri, provodnikov, matthysse, figueroa, benavidez, herrera
there are lots of interesting matchups and rematches that could be made. yeah some of
those guys have losses but in recent times only one guy has faced the other top guys of
his era and came away undefeated. for everyone else, losses just mean they accepted
real challenges and came up short. who knows? pac's last fight may be back down at 140.
his last fight will probably be for a title and he never won a major title at 140.

Wilder gets caught and stopped by Povetkin mid rounds. Some hype starts to generate around Jarrell Miller.
Ward surprises some by beating up Kovalev to take a 118-110 type decision. Stevenson edges controversially past Alvarez then takes another soft one. Beterbiev moves up to cruiserweight.
BHop and Toney retire. Froch and Floyd stay retired. RJJ fights on.
DeGale gets KD'd heavily mid rounds before stopping Jack late.
Crawford and Golovkin keep winning.
M Garcia finally comes back, beats up and stops Provodnikov at 140, isn't heard from again for a while.
Zlaticanin and Flanagan establish themselves as the best at lightweight.
Carl Frampton beats Scott Quigg.
N. Inoue moves up to Bantamweight, destroys a beltholder.

A bit of speculation mixed in with expectation there, I know.

What I hope and what I expect.... are two different things.... seems people are posting expectations than realistic ideals.

Far as the heavyweights go, which is the only division I have ever really been a fan of, I think the Fury/Klitschko rematch will be more interesting than the first with Klitschko trying to be more aggressive, but Fury more precise (he is better in rematches) and we'll see a more thorough beating with Fury winning the rematch, showing the world it was no fluke.

As for the rest of the division.... Wilder has a few rough moments with the Pole, but ultimately kayos him inside of six rounds. He'll hold off Povetkin as long as possible, and probably not defend against the man at all in 2016, as I am sure GoldenBoy will convince the IBF to do a unification fight with the Glazkov/Martin winner... and once again the American public, and the gullible, will buy into the silly and ridiculous notion that Wilder is a real threat to Fury or Klitschko either one.

As for the lighter weights.... I hope GGG knocks out Howdy Doody.... I'm sick and tired of all the Canelo fan boys, its about as ridiculous as all the Pactards. That's a want, I know, not an expectation. What I expect is there to be a long, drug out war of words over catchweight for the fight and it doesnt happen for quite a long time.

I expect Fury to dominate the obviously over the hill former champion and get the stoppage this time.
Julian Williams, Felix Verdejo, and Errol Spence Jr. will be the guys to watch.

you seriously think those 3 are better than Usyk, Gvozdyk, Derevyanchenko, etc?
For me yeah. Personal favorites, and they clearly have potential. I don't recall "better" being a part of anything asked lol..

okay, thank you for commenting though. It was sweet.

Ward kovalev is signed, as long as neither loses Andre can't fight anyone else after July.

Do you have any evidence of it being actually signed ? What is a date and venue ? What are penalties for refusing to fight ?

If date/venue/purse split/penalties/rematch clause/ref/etc. is still undefined, then there is a great possibility that sides will never agree, because Ward clearly doesn't want to fight anybody with a pulse.

Billy Joe Saunders keeps fighting top middleweights...................and keeps winning.
Malignaggi beats somebody for the EBU belt then retires to broadcasting.
Wilder defeats Spilka, Povetkin and the IBF title holder.
Tarver wins a fight and in the 2016 upset of the year...........passes all USADA/VADA blood tests.
Stevenson and Kovalev do not fight one another............both lose a fight in 2016
Tony Bellew follows his victories over Adonis Creed and Masternak with a win over Victor Ramirez

They've already agreed on the money, ward has an inked contract with HBO that states he has to fight kovalev after June. The penalty would be he couldn't fight at all.

Not just ward, they're both locked in after June. Makes kovalev/Stevenson even less likely then it already was.

A source ? All sources I saw were talking about the 3-fight contract with HBO with the 3-rd fight potentially being against Kovalev, nothing set in stone. Ward wouldn't be able to fight on HBO, but PBC networks would still be available if Ward runs to Haymon.
