With AIDs being rife in parts of Africa I hope he had a rubber on the end of his Bic.

Don't know what we've done to deserve him to be honest.

 I have a love /hate relationship with Bunce, I liked the man before he made it big and he even appeared on our atgradio program before making it big... But he shit all over me and the program when he got big when I made Steve Cunningham flip out over the radio  So I lost alot of respect for Bunce being the proverbial ass kisser, like so many were.

Bunce is an inarticulate meathead, his presence on screen symptomatic of the lowering of broadcast standards and the general coarsening of society. He does however really seem to speak to the men-children. Personally I'd put him where he belongs, whistling at birds from his white van.

He's an awful presenter, completely full of shyte. The channel would be taken more seriously if he wasn't on it.

Most people after long enough you'll find something you don't like. For me you just take the rough with the smooth, as it were

Also I like the way he's always got a couple of good feature pieces out either side of a fight.

I think the man is great. I can understand how and why he rubs people up the wrong way however he's a well respected boxing pundit and journalist. It's not like he's scratching around at the bottom of social media and youtube trying to make a living. The man works for and with some of the biggest and well known broadcasters in the UK. Journalist for the Independent, co-host of Colin Murray and friends on Talk Sport twice a week, commentator and pundit on BBC Radio 5 Live, columnist for the ESPN website, weekly podcast for ESPN and of course his own show on B0xnati0n.

Buncey acts more like the ministry of information on behalf of boxing rather than a journalist. He spouts utter nonsense in order to promote a boxer, a show or the sport in general. As a presenter he lacks gravitas, objectivity and the ability to... err... present. However, as a rent-a-gob pundit he's fine.

Yes true. But as the central presenter on allegedly he fails. He should be what the Americans call a 'colour commentator' or a regular guest. He is too 'marmite' and gobby to be the centre of an entire channel.

I agree. I liked him way back when he was playing that kind of role on the BBC. Even on a boxing channel there needs to be someone capable of broader appeal.

x2.

He also seems too eager to be everybody's friend when he's interviewing folk for his show, allowing boxers to wax delusional without being challenged.

The thing about Buncey is he has personality and presence, which means everyone has an opinion on him and that's good for his career. You have to give him credit for all he's achieved, he used to be just one of many boxing hacks

Bunce works under different - and tougher - conditions than the others. To do a one hour live show every week, where he is sat right in front of the camera talking into it, is not easy. It's not scripted or rehearsed, it's live. Plus the broadcasts which can go on for five or six hours. He quite literally has to make it up as he goes along and he wouldn't be human if he didn't occasionally come out with a line that might not - with the benefit of hindsight which he doesn't enjoy at the time - be exactly what he might have wanted to say. I think he does an outstanding job and although there are comparisons here with other pundits nobody else does what he does.
